Fourteen months after I got sober, I started writing.
I had no idea what I was doing or why I was doing it.
I just knew that once I began, I couldn’t stop.
It felt like I was digging myself out of a deep, dark hole with every word I put on the page.
What I discovered was I actually wasn’t just a “Former Party Girl” 🤣🤦🏼♀️ but actually a girl who was really really sad and searching for solutions at the bottom of a bottle.
Step 4 of the 12 step program is to make a “searching and fearless moral inventory” and writing this book was an inventory for me. What are my problems? How have they affected me and others around me? How can I proceed to recovery?
This story started out as a personal project. And then, the deeper I got into my work in sobriety, the more I realized how universal pain is. And how our stories become other people’s survival guides. And so the book took on greater meaning.
I spent one whole year working with @salonilakhia from 2020-2021 on this. I cried and cried over zoom as she dissected my work. After we finished, I then proceeded to let the book sit on my hard drive, which I’m grateful for. In that time a number of conflicts with myself and others came to conclusion that altered the way I saw the world and the message of the book.
I worked with the incredible @smillman0 who dissected this book yet again, and transformed it. Finally with @fuzzyflamingodesign for the final layout. Many friends read the book and gave me feedback. And finally - four years, three editors, 67 chapters and over 115,000 words - Sober Yoga Girl is almost here. ❤️✨ It’s coming soon. When Taylor Swift released TTPD, she wrote on Instagram, “This period of the authors life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.” ❤️

I've read the first and just finished the second book! I'm 5 months alcohol free and "3 Sober Steps" gave great insights to make me think how I can continue to take positive action to a better life
Seems like a great guy. Noticed most every post is a year old. Haven’t seen anything new? I tried the 30 day starter “ magic wafer micro dose miracle pitch” . Didn’t do anything at all as far as these “ magical transformations” people keep raving about. Bless those who have been helped but I did the course of micro dose treatment and never felt anything even at 600 mg ( my last whole wafer). Credit card felt it though. I’m not a believer until I get real treatment

I believe like he said about people who claims to be authentic... ...puts in mind the time I got sold a jalopy, by a car salesman who had this poem like article on his cubicle wall titled "A Honestl Man" ...nothing was honest about him. He was an authentic rip off artist.

He told a story one time where a guys wife said she is going to kill his children. So naturally mike recommends this guy goes to Costa Rica and do drugs. Leaving the kids with his wife. Some how, through the magic of the natural lobotomy it made his wife not crazy. Even though the husband did the drugs. Not his crazy wife.

Thank you for the video. My younger brother has an addiction problem and has been living on the “tent city” in Edmonton since last February? This is not something I would have fathomed I would ever have a need to research. But at the end of the day I want my brother back.
