Kurzanleitung für die Nordschleife, kein langes bla bla. Bin kein Profi aber Erfahrung aus 7 Jahren. Soll unterhaltsam sein und vor allem kurz und knapp. Gefahren wurde die runde entspannt und nicht an Limit mit einem serien 5er BMW. Motorisierung, 4,4l V8 Twinturbo. Bereifung, Bridgestone Potenza. Viel spaß beim schauen.

My first round with M550i Xdrive (UNCUT) Wasn’t my best lap but it was a lot of fun stock car 530hp / 750nm I was a bit slower this round and approached the technical limits. It would be about 20-30 seconds faster, but the brakes are not suitable for the race track, they got extremely hot very quickly. The tire pressure was okay but the system could not be reset. Knapp 1900 Kg merkt man an jeder Ecke. Es schiebt über die Vorderachse. Kein Rennwagen, aber eine schnelle Limo für die Bahn.
Ja das Gewicht ist bemerkbar, aber es waren dann doch nur 1790Kg😊

sometimes I drive the gearbox in sportplus and sometimes in manual, 50:50
@sanmarino_m340i I love the car man, and it's my favorite track. Took me a while to find out that manual drive with flippers gives a tiny boost to driving. It's such a great ride! Thanks for the video, man. I wish I could afford a m550i 😍

Habe mir jetzt auch einen M340i xDrive als Limousine in Portimao Blau als Limousine von Ende 2020 geholt und muss sagen, dass Teil macht echt Spaß. Sehr gut gefahren. Muss auch noch auf den Nürburgring mit meinem.

Is this with the sports mode on, which opens the exhaust valve? Mine M550i seem to me less loud than on this video, though it is clear the valve opens when I put it in the Sports mode.

ja war der erste aus 2019, der hatte noch ein besseren softwarestand, dieses wurde aber dann softer und deutlich weniger nach einem update
Good lap and you had some dangerous drivers in front. I thought you had gone too agressive in some corners but you could handle it. How does this car behave when you lift off in the corners at speed? Neutral?

Otto Particulate Filter... It is obligatory in EU since 2018, but it reduces the exhaust sound volume.

so if you just wanna go fast in straight line the m550i is better than the m340i? i have a subaru sti now but i want something faster in a straightline
Car and Driver and Motor Trend show the m340i 0-60 at 3.7 and 3.8 respectively. The M550i is a couple tenths quicker. I own a '22 M550i and it's just a blast to drive. And, I like the fact that it draws little to no attention...very much a sleeper.
I have a 2011 550i m sport. It’s had the bang class action repairs and I’m totally addicted to it. It has all the bells and whistles and I absolutely eat chargers and challengers for breakfast

Very, very cool! Thank you for this! I have done 4 laps on the Ring on a public day in 2016 (in a prepped m135i) and I have a '22 San Marino Blue m550i individual :) with no rear wheel steering, in the US.. I did some more track laps in the US (various cars including a GT3RS - most amazing track thing ever). I 100% agree that m550i is probably one of the best all-around street/highway cars ever made (if you take into account long distance autobahn style cruising, city driving (rough roads etc), somewhat luxury, and hard cornering, acceleration at times), same torque as M5, etc... But not track.. it does not "like" it. Before that, I had 3 generations of 3-series including 2 E36 M3s. When I get into a 3/4 series (basic 330i or m440 etc), the agility difference is very noticeable but so is the lesser power and torque that you get to enjoy more with the m550i). oh, and the San Marino Blue is the "bluest" blue you'd ever wish for. Both of my M3s were Avusblau as that was the best color at the time )

I am glad to see someone made a clean video of M550i on the racetrack. Is it equipped with stock smood disk M brakes, or it has upgraded M Performance perforated brakes? Before tracking my M550i I am thinking should I go for the upgrade of brakes. Also, does your M550i have M-Fahrwerk professional (dynamic roll stabilization with rear-wheel steering)?
Thank you, I have the 374mm brake, but I recommend upgrading to the 398mm M Performance brake! The weight is very high for the normal brake, it doesn't last long. I drive the adaptive M sport suspension without rear axle steering
@sanmarino_m340i Did you experience that 374mm brakes overheat on the track, and if yes is it too often? Perhaps it makes sense to first wear down the original brakes and then go for the upgrade. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money. In my case, I would also need to buy a new 19-inch winter wheels set since I started with the 18-inch ones which do not fit on 398 mm M Performance brakes 😑 My car has the M-Fahrwerk professional, so I am curious how it would perform on the track.
The disc is not so much the problem, the brake pads should be improved. Endless sells good sports brakepads. the original ones get very hot too quickly
The M-Performance brakes are not much of an upgrade. Perforated discs don't add much. The best thing one could do is change fluid and pads. The blue brakes are very good.
@@cd4984 Yes, you are right, but the M Performance disc is not better because it is perforated, but because it is larger, and it is best to use endless brake pads on this disc
What does the error message say?
Tire air pressure. The system couldn't be reset, so the car thought there was too little air pressure
