Roller Coaster Model made of LIGHT
This is the full explanation of the latest project I've been working on for the past 6 months... a roller coaster model with trains made of light that travel through the layout.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Jetson-Nano Search and Rescue AI UAV
Переглядів 4 тис.4 роки тому
This video highlights the features of a system for estimating the location of people detected in the view of a camera attached to a UAV. The system is meant to demonstrate a possible application of the Jetson Nano Developer Kit for search and rescue operations. I know you made this video ages ago, but is there anywhere for a tutorial for the lights, where they go and how you programmed them. I want to try and re-create this myself with a different ride, great build!
Cool
this is really cool even though the speed is unrealistic. the shape is really refined and smooth, the layout is really nice and the supports are extremely realistic. I am aware that it is really difficult to get a working model roller-coaster that works like they do in real life but if you can make one that'll be next-level!
I think the speed is actually much more realistic than most model coasters, because remember, it’s supposed to be a representation of something much larger. If real roller coasters covered as much track in the amount of time as K’nex coasters, that would be hundreds of g-forces on the rider. The slow speed of this model represents how it would look in real life.
NOT a roller coaster, but a powered track ride. Doesnt count.
Couldn’t you just print the beam diagonally?
Looks like it’s Fury325
thats not a rollercoaster thats just a train at that point. if you can control a rollercoaster train then it defeats the whole perpose of a rollercoaster.
It has a whizz/roar
Can I download this model?
Can you do a tutorial I can’t rig the controller to the motor
Such a great ride!
Great roller coaster! Can you give a link for the track generation program, I want to make a smaller scale version of a diffirent coaster.
This is awesome. Do you think you could build me a suspended one? I’ll pay obviously.
Do you think you could build a simple suspended coaster? 40x70in 18 in tall. Motorized but not on the back. On the track. A little bit larger. I’d pay nicely actually. For someone who knows how to print it shouldn’t be hard.
This is so cool, btw would probably be an awesome real coaster
Could you make a 3d model version of this so I can use it as a guide to make volcicoaster in vrchat
Wow.
How much did this cost to make?
You're a genius ! Congratulations from Paris !
If you could sell this tech to Coaster Dynamix, you'd be a millionaire. Scale speed coasters would be amazing.
Thats pretty cool actually!!!
What is that?
It’s the discord for me. lol but love it.
This looks awesome! I love it 😍
greetings, is there any chance of having the stl of it? i did like it alot
Hello Jon. I m a swiss engineer, currently working in electronic product industrialization. I'm a big fan of your work. I think we can make a real product for sales of your work. If you would be interested to discuss it, let me know and I will give you my contact info :). Best Regards Alex
This real model coaster is dope! And funny how accurate with weight motion and sound it makes! Well done!
Is that fury 325
this shit is so cool how can i acquire this
This looks like Orion or Fury 325 as a B&M giga
thats becuase they are
i know this is a year old but how much did this coast and how long did it take :D
Amazing
Please give the material required
If you started making more and selling them, how much would you sell them for?
It goes the speed of an actual roller coaster! Well done 👍
How did you figure out scale speed and get it looking spot-on!!!!???
"It dont go down"
wtf this is so cool
i may be wrong but could you do this mechanically with a fly wheel?
I need files for that bro that’s sick
That looks really cool!
How can I make something like this, do you have a tutorial?
Looks like an RMC raptor
More like a T-Rex 2 Considering its big enough to support 4 Seats
It’s a B&M giga
now that’s raw asf
Awesome 🎉
Just wondering, Is it easier as a great track, or it’s a free coaster easier to design/construct? Plus it is absolutely amazing too!
If it's real I'll ride it
I love the tiny little restraints
Is the physics simulation pre programmed, like having a table of speed at a given time?
Essentially yes, but it uses a target position and velocity at each point in time. It uses the position as the primary set point and then velocity is just extra information to keep the motor generally spinning at the speed it's expected to when following the plan.
@@jonmendenhall5074 very interesting. I am also working on a real time simulation via accelerometer where I figure out the current direction vector of a train and calculate its current velocity and feed it into a function which gives the new velocity which can be used to rotate the motor.
Brilliant bit of engineering! Beautifully done!
