As a church, God has entrusted us with the Gospel, which is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16-17). Everything that we do is centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We create gospel-centered resources that equip Christians to learn to live out the implications of the gospel in everyday life.
Advent: The Deity of Christ
A complete Biblical picture of Jesus is that Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man in one person and will be so forever. As we take a closer look at the deity of Christ, starting with the claims of Jesus, we will see that Jesus clearly claims to be God. Why is it necessary for Jesus to be fully God?

The most important question that Jesus asked his disciples is, “who do you say that I am?” This question demands a response, with implications of either accepting or rejecting, submitting or rebelling against Jesus. As Peter confesses Jesus as the long awaited anointed one and King, who has come to deliver God’s people and to rule over them. Jesus reveals a profound truth to how Peter came to t...

Throughout Scripture we see a theme of God dwelling with His people. We see it in the beginning with Adam and Eve, and we see it with the prophecies, tabernacle, and temple when God is veiled behind the most holy of holy places. But in today’s sermon, we'll look at how one moment changed everything as Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, willingly became enfleshed in the incarnation. And throug...

A major theme in the life of Jacob is conflict, conflict with his brother Esau, his father-in-law Laban and now we will see conflict surrounding his two wives. Two rival sisters competing with one another over their husband’s affection, utilizing their power to conceive and using every scheme possible to gain the upper hand. What is the Lord doing in all this dysfunction? We will learn that whe...

Genesis: Jacob's Lesson

Jacob receives a taste of his own medicine, when his uncle Laban takes advantage of him and deceives him. Over time the Lord would use this painful experience to expose and remove his sin and mold him into a man that is both humble, submissive and dependent on the Lord. We learn that the Lord is committed to transforming His people.

Jacob is a fugitive on the run, and the Lord in His grace revealed Himself in a dream and gives him wonderful promises. Yet Jacob is “backwards” in his dealing with the Lord. Instead of believing and trusting the Lord’s promises, he bargains with the Lord and sets the conditions for trusting the Lord. Yet the Lord is gracious to him and will begin the work of transforming unworthy Jacob the dec...

Celebrating his birth is not how we should glorify God. Paul says God forbid that we glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Gal 6:14). Emphasizing his birth hides the glory of the cross and misdirects attention to an event under the law that does not have the power to save anyone, but rather could cause confusion as Matthew-John are old testament in their doctrine, and the day is surrounded by fables and Roman Catholic traditions. Christ was not born on December 25th. It is easily researched from the Bible that the date of December 25th is not the birth date of Jesus. More likely, Jesus would be born in the fall as the Bible says was the time when the shepherds would let their flock into the fields to feed. This also aligns with the Bible chronology of the pregnancies of Elizabeth and Mary.
Our first and foremost mission field is our own families, our neighbors, and our nation, not foreign missions. God is certainly judging our nation with this invasion of illegal, violent third-world pagans, but it's not because we aren't sending out as many missionaries as we used to.
"...[J]ust as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire." Jude 7 I understand the concern for delicate sensibilities in the service, but Sodom was not destroyed because of violence, or inhospitality to the stranger, or because of social injustice. It was destroyed because of its sexual sin, most prominently, homosexuality.
Wow. Those numbers at the start are shocking! Thank you for incorporating this pastoral prayer Neil
Such a great sermon. Thank you Neil.
Have you considered this: 1. The foreign invasion of illegal aliens into America is not God's blessing but God’s judgment. 2. God establishes nations and sets their borders. Illegally entering a nation is sin and should not be encouraged. 3. Wanting to preserve one's culture from foreign invaders is not "hating the nations." It's actually "loving your neighbor."
This is the best sermon I’ve ever heard covering a genealogical passage. Praise the Lord.
It's also "demonic" to refer to your pets as your "children." Humans are not "Cat Moms" or "Dog Dads."
1. God sovereignly gives spiritual gifts to whomever He pleases. He distributes them according to His will, not ours. We don't choose our gifts. God does. See 1 Corinthians 12:11, 18, 24, 28. 2. God distributes the gifts among the Church. There is no spiritual gift that everyone has been given. The Charismatic/Assemblies of God distinctive that every believer will manifest the indwelling of the Holy Spirit by speaking in so-called "tongues" is simply wrong. See 1 Corinthians 12:4,-11, 28-30. 3. The supernatural spiritual gifts (i.e. prophecy, languages, healing), if they are still in operation today, are empowered by the Holy Spirit. We do not learn them, nor do we "activate" them. See 1 Corinthians 12:11. 4. The spiritual gifts are given for the common good of the Church and not for personal edification. Therefore, there is no such thing as a gift of a "personal prayer language." See 1 Corinthians 12:7, 25. Paul rebukes the Corinthians for their misuse of "tongues" in 1 Corinthians 14:4. He is not commending those who speak in "tongues," i.e. human languages, without an interpretation. He is saying it's a bad thing to edify oneself, because it doesn't edify the Church.
I loved this sermon. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. Today, not tomorrow. The inclination you may have today to repent should not be presumed upon.
This has been such a great series. This life is passing away.
@42:13 "The more the Church is distinct from the world in her acts and in her maxims, the more true is her testimony for Christ, and the more potent is her witness against sin." -Charles Spurgeon
Haha...@29:25. The "Don't make me come down there" stare.
Edit: 15:45 "division creeps into a church when we have misplaced faith." Agreed. It sometimes seems like the modern church has put its faith in the theology of a still dead, un-resurrected JC(John Calvin) instead of the truth of the Alive, resurrected JC(Jesus Christ). Praise God for the Scriptures showing us Jesus is the only way.
Perhaps, but it also seems like people reject sound doctrine simply because it "sounds like Calvinism." Instead of approaching brothers in Christ with maturity and humility, they divide the Church by saying "I don't follow Calvin" or "I don't follow Arminius." Calvinism is within the realm of Christian orthodoxy. It may be wrong, but it isn't heresy and should not be treated as heresy, nor its adherents be treated as heretics.
@@DefenderoftheCross Sound Doctrine is from the Bible. Calvinism is another gospel. No sound doctrine "sounds like Calvinism." Calvinism is to Christianity as cancer is to a healthy cell. The best way to deal with spiritual cancer is to follow Jesus and beware of false doctrine. Matt 16:11-12
@momentsliketheseofficial No. You're simply wrong. Calvinism is not a false gospel. You do not understand the Gospel if you insist Calvinism is a false gospel. Frankly, I am tired of people like you causing division in the Church with your hatred of Calvinists. It's fine to disagree with Calvinism, but to call it a cancer to Christianity demonstrates that you lack both discernment and spiritual maturity.
@@DefenderoftheCross The Gospel of Jesus Christ to all - 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel [a]of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. - Rom 1:16 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. - 1 John 2:2 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, - 1 Tim 2:3-6 === The gospel of calvinism to all - Dear (elect)/(non-elect), from before the creation he knew you. He always (did)/(didn’t) love you. He sent his son to die for (yours)/(others) sins. He created you (alive)/(dead) and (able)/(unable) to respond to him and be saved. He chose for you to have eternal (life)/(torment) and there is nothing you can do about it. === This is wisdom- 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. 6-1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. - Heb 5:13 to 6:3
@momentsliketheseofficial I've heard all the strawman arguments of hateful non-Calvinists. Irrational Calvinism haters mischaracterizatize the Calvinist position and ignore all the Scriptures that tend to support Calvinism. They have no humility and cannot bear to see Calvinists as brothers in Christ. I'm tired of spiritually immature non-Calvinists destroying the unity in churches. If you cannot approach the topic of Calvinism/Non-Calvinism with humility, but insist Calvinism is a false gospel, you bring the division into the Church. You do not have to agree with Calvinism. Calvinism may indeed be wrong, but it is a reasonable interpretation of Scripture. With spiritual maturity comes the humility to realize that non-Calvinist theology cannot account for all Scripture on the topic, especially Romans 9, and Calvinism cannot account for all Scripture on the topic. A mature Christian realizes that Calvinists and non-Calvinists can both be brothers. An immature Christian has no room for the other.
