How to Remove a Subaru WRX engine part 4: removing engine from car
sorry part 4 took so long but I wasn't really happy with the footage, but I got a lot of comments from people wanting it.
the quality isn't as good as the previous videos because I was short on time, I hope it can still be helpful

No part 5?
Hi there at what location under your car are you jacking it up from with your trolley jack cheers
Idk if it’s the same for STI but there is a pin in the gearbox that you need to remove right ? And you didn’t or i skip that part
This was insanely good. Thanks soldier!
So when you jacked up and supported the transmission did you have to loosen the nuts on the transmission mount? Or is it not necessary?
What pads and rotors do you recommend for the wrx?
The lighting, the shots and the audio are spot on. Great job!!!
Awesome series
What ramps are those? Thank you!
By the far the best video on youtube of EJ255 engine removal! Thanks for all the close up camera shots that no one ever bothers to do! I think I'm going to take the plunge and change the clutch on my Legacy GT myself!
And to install it back?
this is dope thx
This video series saved me a lot of work. It was great for swapping out my engine. Thanks for putting this together!
Those are some crazy hotspots you got on your old rotors.
Thanks for sharing
THIS IS HOW A TUTORIAL SHOULD BE! I need this so much lol thank you for your help and education!
Trusty ole pipe 😂 my man. Great video. Thank you for this.
Plus+1 for all the great comments on the quality of this series. I have the same spun rod bearing issue in my 2014 WRX. The only difference is your engine is WAY cleaner than mine! I"ll have mine out soon following your step-by-step. I'm curious: did you send the engine for rebuild or did you straight-up replace? If rebuild, and if you can recommend them, I would love to know who did the work. As knowledgeable as you obviously are about your car, I'm sure you wouldn't give the rebuild to just anyone...
BROOOO Show me how to get access to the cyliders
Seafoam Deep Creep is better than WD40 and PB Blaster. FYI
Well put together video. This video needs a lot more attention
How do you remove the flywheel and what tool you need for the bolts
Sheesh
Thank you for showing me how to take it out! Now how do I get it back in? haha
How did you depressurize the fuel line before pulling them?
WHAT YEAR WRX?
Don't think I've ever seen a widebody hatch without fog lights, it's weirding me out
Very helpful video. To remove the fuel lines I used two zipties and folded the tips to have a thicker end and pushed them in, on opposite sides.
hey man, i wanna say thanks for the series. super informative and enjoyable to watch. you gonna document the rebuild too ? i look forward to it
Those 17mm bracket bolts are a bitch!
Been a whole year and I’m still waiting for him to remove the piston
I can’t imagine how your back feels after this I did some simple work and it was killing me wow you’re unbelievable👍👍👍👍
He did this in so many pieces of clothing.
I may have missed something, but why do you need to support the engine to remove the last 2 transmission bolts?
You just don't really want to risk the engine falling over and crushing your frame. Even though there's studs in the trans and the motor mounts, always better to be safe rather than sorry
@@logansimpson804 okay kinda figured. Appreciate the response.
I don't even have a WRX but I found this video very informative thank you
Thanks bro very helpful!
Great video
Great job
Tough job, well done
would this tutorial work for a 2009?
Definitely
Straight and to the point, clear shots of what you're doing. Good video man.
Awesome!! Patiently waiting for more updates on this rebuild series!
You should always crack the bleeder valve on the caliper when compressing the pistons. Forcing brake fluid backwards through the system can, and probably WILL damage your ABS components.
Where is the engine install video!!
Thank you.
It is nice to watch you doing this. I love how all the bolts are coming off so easily
I’m literally removing my engine while watching this and it’s super easy thanks man 🙏🏾
Hey man I’m in the same situation but with a blown head gasket I was just curious if you had any follow up videos on rebuilding the actual engine or did you break down and take it to a machine shop? I’m tempted to just build the whole engine while I have it out but I also want to save money
Hey was this noise only at startup? I have a similar noise on Mazda thats only at start up for a few seconds
