They spend 16 days driving in the Superlative Adventure Club Baltic Sea rally, the northernmost rally in the world. Thank you for this video. We had to drill thru the 10mm bolts which connect to the spoiler. Both were so rusty they broke. Sending tomorrow the spoiler to a guy who can 3D print parts for me. Its very hard to find parts for my Eclipse since there's been only 56 registered in 2007. (In my country.) Dont know how many of the Eclipse's are here today in 2024 but i havent seen other Eclipses here. But yeah, thanks man, this video is a lifesaver for me.

    Ozone machines are cool but dangerous. Literally it’s 03 machine instead of 02 - the extra oxygen particle will bond to remove the smell - or with anything around it including your lungs. Don’t use it indoors and give at least 48 hours to fully air out, but yeah they work great.

    When you say make sure the parking brake is off, do you mean to make sure the car is not in park? Or just make sure the emergency brake isn’t engaged (mine is manual). When I did the front brakes, my car was turned off and in park. But I can’t put the car in neutral and turn the car off to make sure the car parking brake is off. Is this what you mean? Or am I overthinking it? Just keep the car off and in park like every other job? Just don’t engage the e-brake?

      Maybe the ebrake is pulled, or the car is in gear or park. If you only have one of the rear wheels up and one on the ground it might not spin.

    That's not survival, it's cold weather camping. Go out there with nothing else but what you're wearing, and then we'll talk about how we're gonna try to survive. People who get lost in the woods or their vehicles break down are the only ones that impress me by actually having to keep it together to survive. Anyone can go out and buy the best propane stove, tents and knives from Walmart and call it survival. Sorry Cupcake, but if you want to learn to survive, have someone with you who can bring all that stuff when you can't get a fire going to keep you warm and saves your life. But do go out with said person and give it a go. You will see that it's not that easy to survive in the harsh environment that you've suddenly found yourself in. Good luck, take care, and stay safe.

    I just picked up an Alltrack with only 17k miles and two things I've noticed. First, after driving it for a while, the engine seems pretty hot although the temperature gauge is normal. Second,, I smell what seems like a faint smell of maybe anti-freeze. I have never owned a Volkswagen so not sure if this is normal. Any thoughts?

    • @AutoOffTopic
      @AutoOffTopic 2 роки тому

      So I noticed the same thing, this is also my first VW. Occasionally I get a faint coolant smell outside the car, I think this is just from the expansion tank. Newer cars tend to run a bit hotter for emissions I believe, also you’ve got a turbo under there heating stuff up. As long as that temp gauge stays at the half way mark, you’re probably fine.

These waterpump assembly are 100% plastic and have been revised over 7 times so far. If you can see dried coolant around the assembly, then it’s leaking. Also running “hot” is just a normal thing for turbocharged German cars.

    Awesome video. I have never tried anything like this before, but I want to try to replace the rotors and brake pads on my son's 2018 Crosstrek. When I search for brake rotors, I am very confused. Some of the rotors come up with a diameter of 274 mm and some come up with a diameter of 293 mm for the same front rotor. What size rotors do I need for the front and rear? They appear to be of different size. Also, what brand do you prefer?

    • @AutoOffTopic

      Front and rear rotors are typically different sizes. I don't know the sizes, I just purchased these parts online from Subaru. You can buy Subaru parts online in the U.S and pick them up at a local dealer.
