@chubawoodz As everyone says, it's cause with an "Open Differential", whatever tire loses traction is the one that keeps spinning...So if your front and rear wheel are off the ground, those two are going to spin. that's the crappy part about it...The wheel that is off the ground, or the one that is stuck in the mud is the one that keeps spinning. Hope that helps.
@dondfromdc In my humble opinion, that 2.5 4 cyl. does a HELL of a job for a Medium-Duty Fun Truck. Yes the 4.0 throws $hit loads of Torque as well as Top-End, which allows those who choose to spend the Cash for Lockers and Swampers deeper and steeper fun...but for what it's got, that 2.5 isnt half-bad .
@jan585 It's not that it's a "bad" 4x4, or that the 4 wheeldrive is bad. For one, the driver should be able to see (as in this case) that one tire will have very little contact, and thus get all of the power, because technically there is no torque going to the wheel. The trick is to apply a little handbrake, get the torque up, and both tires will start pushing.
so the cherokee has no kind of diff locker or limited slip diff. and you will have to buy diff lockers for good off roading does the grand cherokee (2.5 diesel) has better traction devices or is it's 4x4 as bad as this one?

Is limited slip diff beter than rear diff lock ?
