7-26-2024 Boat ramp 23 to Rebecca Creek and back
A 16 mile stand up paddle board trip from Canyon Lake Boat Ramp 23 up the Guadalupe River to Boat Ramp 11 on Rebecca Creek and back.
Water is flowing the whole way.

Great day on the north end of Canyon Lake, Tx at 25 feet low. We paddled from boat ramp 23 across the northern portion of the lake, and up the Guadalupe River until it ran dry.

Sorry about that, we have not set up an email for the channel yet. We paddled Lake Dunlap the other day it was a smooth 15.5-mile round trip.
Been trying to learn more about the the waterways or lack there of around this area. Was able to paddle from Nichol's landing to the 281 bridge on August 1st. Today I put in by the 281 bridge and made it all the way down to the Rebecca creek Bridge.
Howdy, those paddle adventures both sound amazing. We hope to paddle those sections soon! How was the paddle from 281 Rebecca Creek?
That hydrilla makes me want to puke! TPWD won't lift a finger.
One would think the authorities would have the vehicle removed from the lake.
I am also surprised they wouldn't take advantage of this low water opportunity to pull it out. We have most curious to find out how it got there.

@stevethompson6371 I did not see any snakes, but there were some wild hogs on the shore that ran off before I could get my phone out.
We used to live at Mystic Shores. Beautiful place.

I live near where the guadalupe crosses rebecca creek rd.. Its nice to see the water running again. Its clearing up. Which means they are about to shut it off again.EDIT Today is 7/31/24

New subscriber here. I am not familiar with the lake. So where does all the wood debris end up? At the Dam?
The dam will collect some of it when the water levels get high enough, but for now its all stuck on the river.

The river will never be the same. Too many wells drilled into the watertable around the headwaters. If larger scale development happens west of Kerrville, before too long the Guadalupe will only flow briefly after heavy rains.

You can always tell the smartest people. They're the ones who ignore warning signs meant for lesser people.
The sign said it was closed to vehicles and trailers and can be used for launching and recovering by hand 😂

Howdy, yes the lake is still clear. I have another video where I paddle from the lake up the river and back, ua-cam.com/video/QNevZExmChA/v-deo.html. The footage starts up river where it is brown and full of debris, but by the end of the video I'm at the point in front of Boat ramp 23 and the water is all clear.
Still only a drop in the bucket... that didn't last long at all.

Thankfully your truck was still there when you got back. It is illegal to go past the barricades at a closed boat ramp. And it is always illegal to drive a motor vehicle on corp of engineers property. Park rangers were out yesterday at Boat Ramp 22, and 23 .
Thank you for your concern. I have talked to many folks around that launch and the word is, that given the long term low water conditions, boat ramp 23 has been open to fishing and paddling. I'd love to meet the Ranger and find out more. If I run into them I'll get back to ya with an update. P.S. I didn't park in that spot the whole time, it was part of the magic of editing. :)

Its quite likely the powers that be , will shut the river off again. They left it dry for almost 2 years.

Looks like it will add around 2 feet. Which is great because boat ramp 18 was in real danger of being closed before the summer ended. With this extra 2 feet it should ensure ramp 18 can stay open for the rest of the summer. Fingers crossed more is coming!

I use the widows snipping tool for screen capture. For the map I have used google earth, google map, and the map from my tracking apps website, Strava.
Was that last dock the Rebecca creek ramp?
@doughirsch9930 Howdy, and the dock sitting dry at the end is the fishing pier at Cranes Mill Park. We paddled as far up river as we could from the lake, but the river ran dry, and we turned around. The footage at 9:58 shows as far up river we could go. It's about 4.5 more miles to Rebecca Creek .
