    石老师对中国文化的理解极为深刻,最可宝贵的是他能将两种语言、两种文化创造性地结合起来,令人大开眼界!Dr. Stalling has a very deep understanding of the Chinese culture, esp. Chinese poetry (as far as I know). The best thing is Dr. Stalling is so creative that he cohesively connects the two languages and cultures, which has opened our eyes widely to the learning of languages and cultures.

    This video is so great! Your understanding of chinese literature is amazing. Also, your pronunciation of Yin and Yang gives me faith that non Chinese people can understand that it's Yahng not yaeng

    this guys introduction to poetry ironically shows a better and more nuanced understanding of [modern] chinese culture/values than any western journalist or policy maker i've yet encountered.

      I agree. I think poets sometimes can sense things others can't because of their artistic sensitivity!

    I really want to learn how write Chinese poems, but this is just too hard. My Chinese vocabulary is quite good but not excellent

      then just try to read the 唐诗三百首. To be honest there is no short cut for that
