I would look up Seraphim Rose, one of Alan Watts brightest and most fascinating students. Seraphim taught at the same school as Watts and eventually saw Watts for what he was, an alcoholic and Charlatan. Rose also converted to Russian Orthodoxy after becoming disillusioned with Zen/Taoism and has by far more profound teachings than Watts. Jump scare: Rose was an orthodox Christian monk for a good part of his life after converting.

Jesus Christ changed the planet. No other human, Hindu, new age, etc. did what he did. They literally split time because of Him. BC and AD.
