NES Arcade Stick - DIY 3D printed arcade stick box for full size arcade hardware
This is a little project I figured I'd share, there's a certain streamer I wanted too show this to for the most part so I made this video about the process. The TPU box to 3d print is available on thingiverse to download and print out. you could probably use PLA but you might have to redesign the base a bit. The design is an edit of another users 3d model, thanks Frodo_15br for the original design of the box.
The NES controller hardware is from cheap new generic controllers available on ebay, they are made in a way that makes them very suitable for this project.
I used a Crown CWL-309MJ-DX Joystick and iL PSL-L Concave Buttons from Paradise Arcade Shop. cost about $60 with shipping, the filament i used was some Green TPU from a company called Giant Arm on amazon, it just happened to be translucent, which is a nice touch. I used some White PLA to make the dust washer piece.

Batteries in GY6 engine scooters - AGM or regular lead acid batteries?
Переглядів 12311 місяців тому
I been using an AGM battery for a little over a year at this point and it appears to be failing on me already... comparing it to the performance of the original lead acid battery I took out of the thing a little over a year ago... this video doesn't really reach any conclusions over which type of battery is in fact better but tends to suggest AGM batteries are not the right choice imo, probably...

This is a video about a modification I made to these old speaker from the nineties. In my opinion they sound MUCH better with this simple modification. There are many 3-way speakers that could probably benefit by a modification like this. turns out the original manifold on this bike was a little too large for the carburetor, I guess that's why I was having all the issues with the clamp on there. I got a new engine manifold on amazon for gy6 engines and it fits a lot snugger and the clamp doesn't have to crimp the thing on there anymore. Now it runs perfect. Just have to give it a little gas sometimes to get started but it holds ...

    I wound up replacing the bolt that secures the handlebar to the front fork. I had to keep tightening it and idk what happened exactly but it got to the point that the threads got warped and it wouldnt tighten properly, I got some m10 50mm class 8.8 bolts from autozone and tightened one nut on it than another. highly recommend having one of them on hand in case you run into the same issue.

I HAD TROUBLE IN THE MORNINGS HARD STARTING SO I TOOK A TOILET PAPER ROLL AN TAKE GAS CAP OFF AN BLOW INTO GAS TANK USING THE TOILET PAPER ROLL. WITH IT BEING SO HOT OUT SOME TIMES IT WILL GET A VAPOR LOCK. I READ IN THE MANULE TO USE 93 OCTAIN GAS. WHERE I GOT MY GAS ONLY HAD 89, SO ONCE I RUN THE $3 OUT OF IT I FOUND A GAS STATION THAT HAS 93 OCTAIN. I HOPE THAT WILL HELP WITH THE HARD STARTING.YOU HAVE TO GO OVER EVERYTHING CAUSE WHEN THEY PUT THESE SCOOTERS TOGETHER THEY JUST THROW THEM TOGETHER. AN THE CARBURATOR IS SET AT THE FACTORY TO THE BEST OF THERE NOLAGE. OTHER THAT THAT I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS,

    First, let me salute you for being one of the few people other than me that also have a Rattan challenger E bike! I have over 2200 miles online and the rear hub motor finally gave out over a month ago and I replaced the whole wheel hub motor unit thanks to Ebikeling. even going from a 350W to a 500W and still having the pedal assist and throttle at once. I do not know where this hole is to inject grease, I don't want my new motor to burnout as well 'cause I believe that could have been part of the reason was not greasing it. I don't see any injection holes anywhere on these motors I have 2 Ebikes now, an Ancheer 500w so I don't get stuck without any mode of transportation like the last time my back wheel hub motor went out. I've looked all over both wheels and I see no injection holes whatsoever not even on the old 350W motor from my Rattan.

      Video maker loosened and opened the Disc screws! : The holes of the removed disc ,he used to squirt grease in! "Normally " you remove the disc if its not blocking the hub motor plate screws. To open the round hub motor cover with usually torx screws so you can pull out the motor and gears . I say usually because my bike seems the only one in the world with philips screws 😑

    I have the same exact scooter and have the same issues....petcock is a vacuum valve you can test by lightly sucking on the top middle hose which opens the fuel line and fuel should come out of the outlet side. I've done a valve adjustment and tested damn near everything so I finally tore out the carburetor and getting a new one. The one it came with can't be taken apart 😕 it's put together with breakaway bolts which makes no sense

    I wonder if the AGM battery was ever getting charged right in the bike, it seemed to be charging it fine, but I'm thinking that the voltage might not have been right and that reduced the life more than it should have... looking at the diagram its hard to tell if the rectifier controls the voltage going to the battery or not, something would probably have to change it to the 14V or whatever they say AGM batteries should be charged at... oh well. I like to place battery driven sensor lights around my apartment, so that I don't need to go for light switches everywhere. Those normaly run on 3 AAA batteries, but it makes more sense to use these 18650 lithium cells I have laying around, that got nothing to do. Reqired them, works great and far longer than with cadmium batteries. However I realized from the beginning, that these lights, would drain the batteries. Which is why I only use my shitty cells for those. The good thing is, approximately around 3V, the sensor light won't stay off but constantly turn on even without movement, so you know when to change the battery. BUT: The brightness goes down within a few hours so far, that you simply don't recognize the barely shining light until it's dark, so the battery may run far below 3V. I may have totured one or two of my cells this way and they have very little capacity left. General message: It's good to have a bit of knowledge about lithium cells, since they are everywhere. Not discharging too much, and preferably not running it to their upper and lower limits all the time to keep them healthy (I usually try to keep my phone charged between 30% and 70%). And don't use fast charging with any device, if you are not in a hurry. Charging your battery pretty much works like your stomach. If you consumed every meal in a high speed fashion, you would not feel good very soon. Same goes for the voltage rates, you would like your stomach to be "relaxed", it's not very good to drain your body until you are almost starving of hunger and to then always eat as much as you possibly can. You don't die of it, but it's not healthy, as is going all the way to 0% and 100% with a battery all the time not healthy for it.

    • @OGmolton1
      @OGmolton1 Рік тому

      I never thought of that but i guess 18650 cells generally have no circuit to prevent them from running below 3 volts like some battery packs will in a device... in that scenario you gotta really worry about dipping below that then I imagine

    • @Marc_Fuchs_1985
      @Marc_Fuchs_1985 Рік тому

      @@OGmolton1 Certainly, I have a charger, that shows me the volts, and using 18650s in those lights can drain them below 3V. But that is why I said, I only use my shitty cells in those lights. Highly discharging causes no other problems but potentially lowering the capacity of the cell. And since those cells were not very good ones anyway, no need to go easy with them. But still, even bad 18650s last a lot longer than AAAs.

    That "fuel pump" is actually a "pairing system". They ruin scooter engines because they're lefty blue tie bs parts added on to "control emissions". They suck. Remove it. I also have this bike currently. Not a bad bike by any means. Just get an aftermarket muffler, put a Nibbi 24mm carb and upgrade the jets, remove the pairing system. Also get a windshield. I have this same color X-Pro X20 now, I bought it new Dec 2022 and the speedo puck is of 10mph and found out that Chinese manufacturers will put anything on these bikes just to get them off the assembly line and the gears in the puck are for 10 inch tires instead of the 12 and 13 inch tires and my odometer shows more miles than the actual miles so I have to mathematically do my oil changes and over 3000 miles and the crankshaft is knocking and I took my Challenger motor and put it on thie X-pro body and in the future I will be trying to repair the original engine so it does'nt further damage the engine. When I first got this bike which is the same color as the one on this video, I had to change the mirrors that vibrated because of the plastic arms, before I even started this bike I adjusted the valves because from the manufacturer set the exhaust valves tight for emmissions and put a performance header and muffler on it, upgraded the main jet cut open the intake hole on the air filter box instead of drilling holes that will get the filter wet if it rains which I don't ride these bikes in the rain anyway for rust reasons if you look really good where the air goes in on this type of airbox it has a resrtriction and if you have the right type of box cutter you can cut that lip off to open up your air intake because I tried the performance intake in it will not fit on this bike, it's too tall and hits the arch. My Challenger engine I moved the Nibbi tube around with the pod filter and it fits good. and I got 15/37 gears in it no BBK and 10 gram weights and she runs great and hits depending on temperature on a good day I hit a bout 68mph and I'm cool with that but my Challenger I bought new as well in 2021 the crankshaft went out totally at over 7100 miles and bought a new engine because it was toast and I felt that crank was bad when it was new too so it's not just X-Pro or certain brands. I've researched chinese metals in the early 2000's and they do have the worst metal in the world since ancient history like the wars with Japan and you'll see that about the swords made back in those days and the metals are cheaply made and don't expect for anything to last long from anything they manufacture that's why we get what we pay for and trust me I'm not rich but from these bikes just prepare to spend some money even though the parts are cheap and as a mechanic I never half way do a job. Example, don't just change a CVT belt without inspecting all parts becacause it may not just be the belt it can other parts as well that is why I will change all the parts clutch(stock)replaced bearing grease with Lucas high temp, variator(stock) lubed with MHR grease 7.1 on the boss and a light coat of white lithium grease in the rollers and still have the same parts working fine and I use a Japanese Bando belt on the Challenger engine and it's still good after 6 to 7000 miles so if you can replace some of these parts with other than chinese parts you will have way less problems and you will spend a little more but it will pay off in the longrun without constantly buying cheap parts which will add up and cost more overall and remember these are economical made vehicles, they were not really meant to be run hard or raced everyday and if you do, expect to do more shorter maintainace intervals and repairs, watch the racing pros and you will learn alot. If you want more power just get a bigger bike if you have the money, if not we can't complain, I've seen people have these Chinese bikes for years without many issues because many of them just rode 'em easy and never hard and not let 'em just sit up and sit outside in the elements. Anything you own if you do not keep it maintained don't expect for to last or be there when you need it to. Peace.

    also, highly consider swapping all the lights, even the ones in the dash board piece, out for LED, this bike runs better all around, like better pickup and high speed!? i thought spark was spark but I guess not

    it works off vacuum it will not pump gas unless the engine is running creating vacuum at the intake manifold.

    That line is the petcock all you need to do is get rid of the petcock and put an on and off petcock lever your gas cap has event hold on it so you have free-flowing gas if there is no vet on the gas cap then you produce what they called vaporloc you got to have some type of ventilation that's what Chinese scooters have so many problems

    I’m looking into buying one in the next month or two. I was wondering how the exhaust and airflow are with these as stock.

      they are ok but they tend to un-rivet themselves and fall apart... the original muffler was terrible though... If you know how to make a custom pipe and put a good muffler on there I'd say that's a great idea and probably worth it

      Oh yeah, engine oil and the gear oil too. Thanks, yeah, the problem was with the fuel pump, didnt help that the engine manifold wasnt the right size connecting to the carburetur either

    I got a brake lever kill switch with red/black wire. I want to turn that into a throttle.

    • @OGmolton1
      @OGmolton1 Рік тому

      I thought those were built into the brake lever, like an extra brake lever for throttle? idk, might get in the way of the brakes. as long as its wired like the switch above I guess it'll work. It's been so long, I use a gas powered scooter now and I love the thing, ebikes for everyday commuting sucks compared to the scooter imo. It's got big 13" wheels so it's pretty smooth

    • @XiaolinDraconis
      @XiaolinDraconis Рік тому

      @@OGmolton1 yeah it's built in, like a button inside that depresses when you brake. I got an extra one, only red and black vs the actual throttle with red black and white.

    • @OGmolton1
      @OGmolton1 Рік тому

      @@XiaolinDraconis I like that idea, probably safer than the on off switch, and not as annoying as the thumb throttle hopefully. As long as it can switch in the resistance proper so it thinks your hitting the throttle you should be good
