Loved the video, going on Badger for day trip on 9,4,24 . Last time on ferry was City of Midland, thank you to all that make this possible. Cant wait to see you all.🤗🤗❤❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hermoso barco lindo ver cómo lo timonean como disfrutan los pasajeros y la tripulación ,buen video,Saludos de ARGENTINA 🇦🇷❤️
I can just imagine the wonderful smells coming from this lovely old ship, coal burning, hot oil, wonderful. So glad she was never converted to burn oil. Long may this old girl keep plying the waters.
Amsterdam calling... Already following the shipping history of your Great Lakes, in awe. And some ,S.S.Badger, video's by enthusiastic passengers & landlubbers of fans. This was very nice indeed, Some shots of ,,The Holy of Holy's,, - the Bridge & and engine/boiler rooms. Thanks, All my blessings to Crew & Her ❤😊
someone needs to build a slightly smaller titanic, steam powered buy the same steam engine but scaled down and with no stupid emission control, just pure old fashion long stroke 4 cylinder steam engine
To Kenneth Nelson ... for God's sake, will you PLEASE turn down the music so I can hear the speech?
Very good. A peice of living history is great to see in use. I'd go for the Badger Bingo.
60 crew ?
Thanks neighbor you do a great job. I have been on her multiple times during my life at Bay Ship. Also have crossed the lake on her as well as the City of Midland and one other over the years. Thanks
This was amazing videos very well done"

Truly uplifting and inspiring.
Didn't realize any of the old C&O car ferries still existed. Cool video.
Best Western Motel across the waterway... taxi ride 7bucks ... short order cook makes great hamburgers. Wisconsin has some bad pizza... but we try to not badger them..
At the center buoy we could just barely see the tops of the trees on each side. and the food was great...
The Uniflow engine was a hot new invention in WW1.
I really enjoyed this video. The information was easy to follow and seemed pretty complete. I've been a lifelong railfan, and am now a career railroader as a locomotive engineer for a local commuter railroad. Over the years, I've become familiar with how steam works on a railroad. Maritime applications of steam have always fascinated me too, but I've had little exposure to it. This video seems to really explain how the ship functions, from the basics of steam, to the logistics of the crew on board. Thank you! It's really amazing to think that our early industrial success and innovation, as well as continued practicality today really boils down (pun intended) to the basics of burning a fuel to boil water. Sure, some of the systems to produce more of it, and then harness it to use it are complicated. But, it all starts with the basic principal of boiling water to create steam.
This is a wonderful video.
Last beautiful coal powered steamer of the great lakes. Greetings from Netherlands
A fantastic ship!

The ship owner ought to get those guys on an exercise program, dang some of those dudes look awful.
Making my third trip with my spouse in late June. Always a pleasure. That horn needs to be duplicated in a hockey arena somewhere!

Since my first voyage in my Skoolie will be to the great lakes shipwreck museum, Th SS badger will be on my roster of 2022 events. Thank you s much for this great video.
That lighthouse.. i walked all the way out to it.
This was a great trip for my past wife.. she enjoyed it so much...
Way to much pollution No good
All great lakes vessels have exhaust scrubbers so nice try.
Massive ship. Remember breaking ice for the Badger into Ludington. Remember seeing the Spartan tied up thereafter it was "decommissioned". Not sure where she is now, that was back in 80/81. Great narrated video. USCGC Mobile Bay crew member 80/81
Cool!
Neat video, thanks.
I think I was about 11 or 12 in the early 70’s when I took the Badger over from Ludington to Manitowoc , it was so much fun. I couldn’t believe the color of the water in the middle of Lake Michigan it was beautiful kind of a aqua color. I wonder what it’s like now ? I do remember the waves were pretty big which kept me kinda dizzy for the first half of the trip…sure am glad I got to experience such a great time though…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I hope this ship stays and runs for a very long time, she is one of a kind now, and love to see a working piece of history
For a ship nerd like me, this is an awesome video
A trip is on my bucket list.
I went across on the City of Midland a few times. Whatever happened to that ship? I liked its layout better than the Badger
Thank you for taking us along.
I took this trip as a child…it was a lot of fun. I’m definitely going to want to take it with my family now
We can't wait to go!
On September 12 1970 on our Honeymoon we traveled aboard over night. I am now a volunteer crew member on the LST-325 Evansville IN
Producing the Badger video was a true once in a lifetime experience. Thanks to all who watched. May this old lady of the Lake continue her trips for many years to come! Ken Nelson, filmmaker.
This was a beautiful presentation of the SS badger, great wonderful job, congratulations to all of people involved in the production of this video, retired Master Captain Jerry, Great Lakes
She’s a fun vessel to take across Lake Michigan, my young son had happy memories.
In 2019 I visited my son who worked near Ludington, MI. I sure wish I could have gone to WI and back on the Badger just for a sail, but its a bit too pricey for just a day cruise.
When was the badger scrapped in Turkey?
Are you drunk? The Badger is still running!!! It was just sold to another company. Don't you read the paper?
