I love that you’re always drinking tequilas that I’ve never heard of but why would you get anything made by caca maestri? Of all the tequilas that I’ve tried, they literally make the very worst. Consistently.

Thanks for the review! I really enjoyed the original Lalo until they moved to a different distillery location, and something changed, IMO. It was still easy to sip, but not as enjoyable. Less agave punch, like you said...muted, kind of bland, and lacking complexity. Enter the still strength blanco. My reception of the sample I tried was definitely less enthusiastic than yours. More agave presence? Yes. Bolder flavors? Yes. Individual character to standout among old favorites and the sea of new high proof releases? No. I think it's good, but not memorable like Caballito Cerrero Azul or Chato, G4 108, Tapatio 110, Don Fulano Fuerte, Lagrimas Del Valle, and others I could mention. It also released for almost $80 in my area. It's just not worth that kind of money, IMO. Too bad, really, because I think Lalo's a very nice gentleman, but I can no longer support the brand.

FYI - When I did my review last month, I told the owner that the top was loose, that it came out too easily and didn't fit correctly. He said they're making new toppers soon to fit the hand blown bottles better.

I bought a bottle of this blanco as I appreciate blancos more than other types of tequila hoping isn’t as hot/burn as a other reviewers i saw said. Looks like they probably weren’t versed in full flavored tequila

Try some Espolón or Rey Campero mezcal if available! Great additive free options but Patrón is solid and additive free too if a bit expensive. Doubt this last ones additive free but Kirkland Blanco Tequila tastes somewhat natural to me and is a good budget option if you use Costco

My favorite low key drinking tequila. Isn’t as “buttery” tasting as blanco, this one is great. Always grab two bottles when I visit MX. Good tip on Walmart.

I found the still strength version of this. Really impressed. On a side note I read on Tequila Matchmaker that Siempre is made at NOM 1414 so I mentioned that to a store associate at a local liquor store here in Alberta and when I looked on a bottle of Siempre it said NOM 1438. I felt cheated....LOL. Do some of these brands source tequila from multiple different distilleries and still bottle it under the one name?

The bottles used for Terralta are the same bottles used for G4. The Terralta brand came about because Felipe Camarena had to use deep well water to produce tequila. G4 is made from a 50/50 blend of rain water and spring water. Of course the drawback to using rain water is that it’s going to run out as the seasons change and the dry seasons come. Therefore the El Pandillo distillery has to use other water sources to keep production going. But the change of water also changes the flavor profile, so they realized that they couldn’t sell the deep well water tequila under the G4 brand because of the difference in flavor. So the solution was to rebrand it and keep selling it. I love both brands.

I know this is an older video but I'm fairly new to tequila and I picked up a bottle of this blanco this past weekend. Ocho blanco and Siempre blanco are really high on my list of favorites but, as I'm sipping my way through this bottle, this blanco is making a case for the top spot. My sinuses don't allow a great nose but everything I do get is wonderful and carries over to the pallette. My pallette is still young but I definitely get the agave and a sweetness that is real pleasant to me. I can definitely make it disappear quickly! Good juice! 👍🏼 Thanks for the review!

Oh wow, I'm mainly an anejo drinker, But, I guess I'll have to try the reposado too, as I do love their anejo, I didn't even know they made a 40%, we only have the (50%) high proof here.

Beautiful bottle, but no producer shown on label. I believe it is made by Casa Ruelas (contract distillery with 10+ brands made there). I hope the abv would have been higher, so it could be referenced as an example of a traditional farmer sotol. Entry distillate for sipping and mixing. Could feel bland for the seasoned enthusiast.
