Thanks for the video, after some long years between doing any gun work I know find myself doing some left hand builds and all of the stocks I have at this point ( 5 ) have a poly finish ( which I hate ), not liking chemical removers I was happy as a bear in a bee apiary to see how you removed this finish. Thanks. Please cover how you're doing the checkering. I will finish my stocks with boiled linseed oil, buffed to a nice finished, but not shinny
I am just finishing up removing the finish on a 52 Superposed. I really wish I would have seen your video first. Great instruction. I also would like to know more about that vice you have.
What happen to pant remover to remove varnish. I'm a 4th generation wood worker my grandfather wood fire my ass if he was still alive for using a steel tool to remove varnish. Only steel wool with pant remover. I'v us 200 great to 800 great for wood stock's. Every one does it different remember just get it done ✅.
I would cut my finger off and gouge the stock for sure
Make a video with all the tools completed and show how they are used. It would make a great instructional video.
Love good stock woodworking
Nice!
What do you do with the checkering mask it off and finish around it or do you strip it to with liquid stripper
