Looks like a fake battery for the clock face. It's white plastic with springs going through it, possibly to just steal power from the main battery? Is anyone familiar with this?

Use the spring from inside an old spring bar that holds the strap on. You might need to cut it down.
I think you needed a bigger hammer.
What if the watch calls for a 3 v and you put in a 1 v ?
