#NewJackSwing Era! - The history of the New Jack Swing Movement by Teddy Riley and many other New Jack acts. New Jack Swing or Swingbeat is a fusion genre spearheaded by Teddy Riley and other producers that became popular from the late 1980s into the early 1990s. Its influence, along with Hip Hop, seeped into pop culture and was the definitive sound of the inventive Black New York club scene. I...

Darren A. Adams the lead singer of Basic Black and 911 solo project coming soon. Darrell is one of the most powerful, razor sharp singers in music history TODAY. As a member of the Basic Black, 911, ARB and as a solo artist, he has set the platinum standard for vocal fire-power. The most creative writer, singer and producer in the music business today. If you really know "real" R&B, Hip Hop Sou...
Chill - Simple Love
Переглядів 1,3 тис.9 років тому
This one is more Funk/RnB than HipHop, but it’s affiliated to the New Jack Swing genre! From there Chill somehow melds Jesse Johnson-inspired grooves with a Parliament/Funkadelic type melody on the title track. “Body Reaction”, which was one of the singles from this record really (and I mean really) sounds like something Jesse Johnson would have produced, particularly in the tone of the guitar ...

This is my former church and chior. Wow time flies this was in the nineteen eighties.
Did Aaron sing with Hezekiah Walker shortly before Guy hit it big?
This whole album was a masterpiece! I still have it on cd!!
The camera man has 1 job 😂
This song goes off too fast but I still love it
2024 ❤
I would love to hear Aaron do a gospel cd , his voice is awesome
2024 🔥
What year was this track please?
I'm confused....you guys thinks he sounds good? I never thought Aaron Hall could sing...he sounds and has always sounded barely mediocre...Teddy Riley made Aarons voice bearable.
What are the lyrics?
God gave Aaron a crazy talent.
Great song!
😂
I came to see Aaron Hall and got to hear his beautiful song. Adding this to my gospel Playlist. ❤
Never heard of this guy but Im really feeling this song
I’m pretty sure you have and do not realize it. He passed a couple of years ago. He was the lead singer in a group called “Basic Black” in 1990 so depending on your age you know but even if you are young you still may have heard their music. The group had four members with 3 from Columbus Georgia and Darrell Dezo Adams from New York. In fact before joining that group, he was in a group with Solo Artist Aaron Hall who was also the lead singer in the Group Guy with world renown producer Teddy Riley. Aaron was the singer R.Kelly stole his whole style from and copied the way Aaron sounded and how he sang. The group was Darrell Dezo Adams, Aaron Hall, and Dinky Bingham who later became the leader of the group The Jamaica Boys. That was Darrell’s first group growing up in NY. But he became famous when he and the 3 other members of basic black got together years later. Darrell’s group Basic Black had hit songs like, in the order they came out: 1) She’s Mine. 2) Nothing But A Party. 3) Whatever It Takes. 4) Special Kind of Fool. These 4 hits were all on the same album that dropped in 1990. Number 1, 2 and three were up tempo club/party bangers back in the day and the 4th was the classic ballad! My two favorites from them is Whatever it takes and it has the regular version and the 12inch single longer version. Back in the day singers and rappers would put out what they called a 12 inch maxi single version of a hit song which basically the same song but extended, longer sometimes with extra drums or the same lyrics but different music altogether or the same music but slightly changed. So my favorite two are Whatever It Takes, and Special Kind of Fool but trust me Darrell showed off vocally on all of them. He was also a songwriter and producer and later a background singer for Justin Timberlake. Darrell died in February of 2020. The group Basic Black is back together with 2 original members and 2 new members. Check out those fours songs, in fact check out the whole album it’s considered a classic in R&B. Wait until you really hear what Darrell can do vocally on that album. The Group was called Basic Black and the album was also called Basic Black. Utmost honor and respect to you.🙏🏿
I can play this over and I over and over again
This isn’t new Jack swing that’s Teddy Riley even Teddy said Devante was a beast and a force to be reckoned with
She's so gorgeous.
I imagine how those studio sessions went with this unreleased remix of this song here.
Definitely cogic
Yeah, that was our signature song, after the processional.
That’s 100% not a cogic church.
amen amen
I miss these days. Youth choir days. Brought back some good memories!
He sounds like Stevie Wonder here… not Charlie Wilson. 👏🏾
Olha o voz do cara inbasado
What's this version called though
The remix
Just heard from Mucho Scott that he produced this song for 911
Oh my GOD!! I've been singing this song since I first heard it on a tape in a friends car. I was 16! I'm 47 and JUST NOW found it for the first time since then!! I LOVE THIS SONG!
Same. I could never remember who sang it.
Love it!!!
Your Eyes, and I like were out at the same time! I used to play them back to back. Anne G, and Aaron Hall use some of the same vocal riffs in the songs.
I like Guy....what a homage to that song lol
I JUST REALIZED THAT!!
I think this may have came out b4 guy...i dont recall exactly
Brought tears to my eyes
Hey everyone! Make sure to follow and subscribe to the creator, director, and choreographer! ua-cam.com/users/IAmBounce15
Love this song!!!! I used to blast this one!!! Especially after "Strictly Business" came out!;
🤣🤣🤣🤣 You took it back! I love that movie btw
Beginning intro is definitely where Guy was inspired to produce the song "Teddy's Jam"... Maybe not the entire body of the song but they have certainly took the tooth and fingernail from this song to creating "Teddy's Jam" You don't have to listen closely to hear it.. However it's always a treat to hear this fella SANG! Congrats King to all your accomplishments. Cheers.
Listen to the Gap Band’s Jam To The Motha
@@sheldontaylor2002Yeah I can hear Teddy's Jam in the same tone... Definitely inspired the group "Guy" sound.
Who shot this video?
This version tho 👑👑👑👑🥳🥳🥳🥳💥💥💥💥
Sounds rhythmically influenced by Guy's "I Like" IMO.
That camera man sucks 😂😂😂😂
I know darn it I’m trying hard to see him and can’t 😡
RIP Darryl Dezo Adams huge talent amazing voice

Nice & Lovely Track
Oh God, flash mobs. It seems like sooo long ago, lmao. Imagine Covid flash mobs with everyone wearing masks and dancing six feet apart. New Jack Swing era is the greatest of all time, though! I'm biased since it was my childhood music, but it's still the best. It was also the last time mainstream pop music was that black, until the present day.
all the greats started out in church and singing for Christ (Braxton, Bee, Aretha, Patti, Lil Rich, James B etc) That's why Eternal Security is so important.
2:25 that's it
That was so so good. A great spirit lifter. Wunderbar, bellisimo, magnifique, bustin
