    Enjoyed that mate. Im the lad you met outside the boxing gym, who was inspecting the old culvert. Im guessing where we were stood, where my van was parked, was the old track bed of this line? Either way i enjoyed it. I have recently done an inspection of the culverted river that runs beneath the North Bridge and Sainsbury's. Shame i hadnt met you before, you could have come and had a look at that one.

    Great content as always . Walked this line yesterday from the meadowhall end with a view of completing it all . There is an old steelworks with a very distinctive footbridge still there about a mile up from meadowhall. Any history on this would be greatly appreciated . Again , keep up the good work !

    The north end of lee bank tunnel is still there, it is fully bricked up. I visited it a few years back you can get to it from old lane by going down next to the rail bridge, it is very hard to get to due to the foliage and trees but when the porthole suddenly appears through the trees is worth the struggle getting to it

    I dont know why but this video didnt show on my feed only parts 1 and 3..... Some great unseen photos in this one and you think they would have kept the viaduct part of the flyover road scheme as it would make a good link around that area of halifax.

      Thanks man ! Yeah If you look at old side by side map viewer it’s really good as it shows where lines were and tunnels / viaducts etc so you can trace with the current map where things may have been demolished 😀

    Brilliant video. I have lived in Halifax all my life (67 years), some of my family members worked for Crossleys carpets and I remember the railway line, although I never saw it in action.

    This is great. I've been trying to figure out the route past Dean Clough and this is very helpful. That railway line would have made a great cycleway.

    Lovely video I often went through the long tunnel to train spot, as you got loads coming out of CARLTON south SIDINGS. Just to let you know, the post is a mileage post 176 miles to London, not a gradient post. Have a walk round where the engine shed used to be at ROYSTON. Not much left now.

    Brilliant Just before that retaining wall on the left at Eureka there was a scrapyard on the right whose entrance was on Church Street, I used to go with my Dad to work and sit on the wall watching the trains in the early to mid-sixties.

    That building looks like a workers staff room & store shed. There was something similar at the old Bradley station but in red brick. Sadly now long gone.

    Hi I’m George, the railways aren’t what they used to be, it’s amazing they are putting extra lines in, on the trans pennine route, it’s a big project they are doing, I remember when I was a kid there were lots and lots railways everywhere, unfortunately they have gone, they don’t shunt parcels anymore

    Another great video , at Royston if you do some searching the inspection pits from the depot are still there, used to spot trains at Cudworth in the 70s it was a very busy place ,endless coal trains etc' happy days

      @@daystatesniper01 me and @wetdogfbk had a rummage around and found them However lots of vegetation Jonny has done a video on it If you type Royston engine shed you’ll find his We have Said that will come back and rummage again so I can do a take on it when the vegetation dies down

    Much of the track beds of the midland railway are undeveloped and don't have greenways but most are duplicated lines. this is a prime area for line reinstatement to increase capacity.
