Duh! Well, obviously!!

How my cat see me (most likely): Morning: Meh, I am meoving here more than 5 min. and my hooman still did not bring me the food. Lazy bastard! Will scratch him later for sure! A bit later: Hoooooman, hooooooman, come here my stupid slave and open this door I want to get out,,, OMG why I am cursed with that hooman? A bit bit later: Yaaaaawn, ok, nothing interesting outside, time to get back home, hopefully my hooman have cleaned my sandbox and my bed and sec. breakfast is ready. It will be better for him for sure. A few hours later: Yaaaaawn, HOOOOOMMMAAAAANNN, where is my snack? Gime fast, Huuuurryyy! Heeees so slow! Ok time to scratch im a bit, just so he would not forget who is tha boss here! He he he I knew he would scream. Ok time to go out again ..... etc. etc. etc ....

My apologies but my tuxedo cat knows when I'm happy/sad n, so on.. She gives nothing but kindness, those easy bites, but; must of all when I call her she's there...

To answer the question accurately, we'd have to be able to ask them! Cats are generally far more intelligent than they get credit for. This is often evident by their exhibition of self-confidence. So cats do not think that their human guardian is a large cat. Instead, by recognizing our deficiencies and superiority in varied factors, they know that we are just another animal with potentials for being a friend or foe. They often have an easier time reading us than vice versa. Because they have an inmate talent in detecting meanings of body language and vocalizations. As our dependents, they associate feeding, proximics, and gestures of affection with a parental figure but do not mistake us for a larger version. In fact, the appearance of a much larger cat would be frightening.

Have 3 cats. One adopted me 3 years ago, huge 18 lbs, Velcro cat. Plays, runs, cuddles me. Have 18 1/2 year old. Hit at shelter last year. Nuzzles, licks me, cuddles & sometimes plays a bit. Sweet boy. Brought home 15 year old from shelter past spring. Spry lady. Plays quite a bit. Love them all

My kitty nuzzles, head bumps, and licks my hand. She also sometimes answers with a vocalization that sounds like "Hmmm?" in tone when I call her by her name. Of course there are her nicknames too :).
