I use it because it has the capacity of carrying 4 SRVs which when doing Ground CZs can be useful. If I get killed on foot the SRV I’m using generally gets destroyed and it’s good to have spares rather than going back to a station to replace them.

Really sorry about that, my OBS defaulted the audio settings and I didn't notice it. What I cannot understand is that it has had 47 views after only 1 day and 3 likes, even with no sound! Should I take it down?

This video is quite old now but I checked this out only 4 weeks ago. It depends what sector of the galaxy you are in, some sectors just do not have any!

It’s weird, some in game panels such as the galaxy map won’t let your mouse pointer leave the window, the main menu is another. Whilst in the actual game window you can move your mouse anywhere around your screen. The other thing is the size of your Dash screen, if you have it too small the mouse pointer doesn’t show! A setting of x7 or above let’s it show. I hope this helps?

@@cmdrpausanias2332 I think I found it in the settings, though I can't remember where. I can use it everywhere exept if i'm in the cockpit.

It doesn't seem to work in every sector now as it did when I originally uploaded the video - however I used my method in sector Gru Hypue AA-A H just now and H99 was a black hole! I also found a Wolf Rayet there too.

@@cmdrpausanias2332 You're right, it does work in some other sectors I've tried. Unfortunately looks like one guy scanned everything interesting within about 1000ly³ on EDSM. I think my very own Wolf Rayet will have to wait until I get my Anaconda.

what is your experience with these settings? How responsive/smooth is this with your 3060?

It is suppose to save fuel of course but what about your starter motor! Turn it off.

I think I know what your experiencing. I had this with my Rift but I’m now using a Quest 2 and that blotchiness has gone!

Disabling the auto start stop system doesn’t allow the engine to turn off.

DASH does work with Q2 in virtually the same way as the Rift. I now have a Q2 myself and use it the same way as this video shows.

In this video you can see my DASH and the game is that what you are after? If it is it's a setting in OBS that records different aspects, I cannot remember at the moment how I used to do this but I'll check up for you. There is a difference between recording ED on it's own and recording the Headset Image if I remember. I'll check tonight and get back to you.

Sussed it - I used OCULUSMIRROR.exe, see this video to find it on your machine, ua-cam.com/video/cSDr2qX_DhY/v-deo.html. At the moment you are probably recording the ELITE CLIENT which only records the Elite Screen on your desktop. Run OculusMirror.exe, this shows an image on screen of what you are actually looking at in the VR headset, therefore, if you are playing Elite with DASH pinned you'll see that in the OculusMirror window. Now set OBS to record the OculusMirror window and not the ED Client window. I hope this helps. I think you can get a wider better recording using this, it might take some setting up to get it right though.

Whilst I do not like the pancake mode either, I think this is a temporary thing, ED has always been a top VR game and I'd like to think they are working on it. Could you edit the expletives from your message, many thanks. P

I did have a DK2, this headset is referred to as The Oculus Rift. I think it has been referred to as a CV1 also. I hope this helps.

I have some questions if you dont mind aswering. how is the screen door effect? how is the lens glare? in comparison with a 1080 monitor, would you say it looks good? what do you think of the AA? was everything readable for you?

@@Leader-uq5im Hi, I don't mind answering questions at all. I am still using it, it's good. If you are buying one now though support for it won't last long. By that I mean it will still work but if you had a problem Oculus wouldn't be interested in helping you. I can't really recommend what to go for though because I cannot find something myself I want to jump in on to change my VR experience yet. The screen door is difficult to detect but there. Lens glare, I do not really notice. At the moment no VR is as good as a pancake screen but pancake cannot compete with a 3D experience, after a while you get used to what you see. AA is turned OFF, I think I mention that in my video. Everything is perfectly readable with these settings and the green HUD helps a lot with that. One thing to mention, I'm running with a 2080Ti graphics card, I used to have a 1080 when I had the DK2, when I upgraded to the 2080 with the DK2 still everything became much smoother, when I moved to the ORift things became clearer but still smooth. If anything my next major purchase will be a better graphics card as I am very happy with the quality of everything about the Rift.

You don't get a mouse cursor 'in-game' unless you're actually typing into any fields. Watch the video (and the original, see description of this video) to see when you can and can't see the mouse cursor. I hope this helps. There are some frustrating game pages that won't let you move the cursor off the page your on!

Those are controlled in your centre screen under settings I think

Is the engine running whilst you do it? It's not enough just to have the ignition on. Regarding the lights/locking, I don't know. I would have a look in the vehicle settings menu on the centre console for these, I think I've seen something about this in there. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I believe DASH does work with the Quest 2 but am not 100% sure.

If I understand what you're saying correctly the new file has to overwrite the original frontier file, go to about 9mins into the video and take it from there. MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE ORIGINAL FILE BEFORE YOU OVERWRITE IT!!!!!! Hi Ruggero, can you put up a video of the issue? I got in touch with Oculus when I was having a problem with Dash when it kept going black on me. It took them ages but that now seems fixed. I posted a UA-cam of the problem for them to view. P

@@cmdrpausanias2332 not sure how I can make a video of the issue, may be you can suggest how? I tried to contact Oculus but their suggestions was just a try to uninstall everything and reinstall everything... I'm not gonna do it again... I also open a ticket with Frontiere since the problem came out with Fleet Carrier, before it was working well. A thing I noticed in your video is that when you open the Dashboard you can't see ED while instead I still van see the game. The video instead you posted for Oculus it says I can't see it... Usually when I open the Dashboard the first time while in game it works but if I will reopen it usually doesn't or I can hear something but it's like the game is covering it. Or simply nothing happens. Sometimes instead when something happens the performances of the Dashboard are really bad. May be an impression but the problem seems to be worst after using the galaxy map

@@ruggero1980 I'm struggling to imagine what the problem is you are getting. I use OBS Studio to record my videos, it's a free download. If I could see the issue it might help me help you.

@@cmdrpausanias2332 Hi, I managed to make a video you can find at this link ua-cam.com/video/1AB-9M0ueZQ/v-deo.html Here you can see that the first time I open the dashboard while in ED it works fine but as soon as I select again the ED windows well... you will see... also you will see that clicking out of ED window again will make the dashboard working properly again unless if I'm already in the ship and may be already used the galaxy map, in that case it's really hard it works again and mostly I can also see the Oculus logo appears like it is restarting.

Hi go into navi and go into set up and then to voices and there you have your voices

This isn't an App as such it's built in to Oculus products such as the Rift, pressing the Oculus Logo on the Right Hand Hand Controller brings it up. It the bottom right hand corner there is a Drawing Pin logo, pointing and clicking on that will 'pin' the window in your environment in VR. I hope this helps.

This method has worked for me but it was a grind (unusual for Elite!). Once I found one of each I stopped, leaving other undiscovered ones for other people, some areas of space with Black Holes and Wolf Rayets have ALL been found by the same Cmdr, draw your own conclusions on that practice.
