Around 2:30 AM CDT I was still out watching the sky and was rewarded with another impressive burst of Northern Lights

Beautiful Northern Lights ( NL ) Show at Lake near Hayes Center, NE . There were several bursts of intense activity visible without the aid of a camera. This was one of my dream NL chases with no wind and NL reflection on a lake :)

Unique experience on my first visit to the Milburn, NE Diversion Dam. The diversion person was there in the process of moving the river ! It was cool to see 2 man made localized flash floods. Beautiful Supercell formed near Curtis, NE. There was no chance of thunderstorms in the forecast on this day. Sometimes Mother Nature doesn't look at the forecast :)

Severe storm spins down and COMPLETELY vanishes in about 45 minutes in this short time lapse video. No sound on the video but I could hear a freight train sound sometimes associated with the sound of a tornado :)

Severe storm near Ellsworth, NE

Caught a couple storms on this chase in SW Nebraska. Video is kinda cool as 1st storm moved directly over me. Wild cloud motion on 2nd storm about an hour later as the sun sets .

December 30, 2006 Ice Storm Photos near Holdrege, NE The ice was so thick I was able to walk ..mostly crawl.. on TOP of blades of grass in photos 1 and 2 . An unexpectedly impressive sky from this marginally severe storm ! That's one cool thing about chasing storms you never know exactly what you will see. No matter how many times you have chased storms in the past each chase truly is a new adventure :)
