The Legend

Ventures was the most successful music band ever in Japan as well as in Philippines. Simply because no lyrics in their playing, unlike all other Rock&Roll bands, I think. Of course their revolutionary style of playing. They are to play music, not to show like other Rock&Roll bands. There are tens of professional ***Ventures in Japan. Players are mature adults, not teenagers. I'm sure the same in Philippines. Such great band ... is not known well in US or hardly known in Canada...The most under-rated band in US, I'm sure.

Senyor Wally G. had forgotten that Juan dela Cruz Band with its original drummer, Edmond "Bosyo" Fortuno, had a special & rare reunion private party gig during the birthday party of Rey Pineda at the rooftop of Residencia 888, Ortigas Center on May 16, 1996 (just like the Beatles on the rooftop). Rey was the guy mentioned by Senyor Wally who gave him original Eric Clapton signature gray Fender Stratocaster. I heard that Rey also was involved in the 1970 Antipolo Rock Festival. I was there among the guests. The JDLC Band had another gig in March 2003 ay Runway 516 Resto Bar, Angeles City owned by Rey Pineda. Mike Hanapol brought along Perf de Castro to that gig. I just hope somebody uploads on UA-cam the video of the rock concert with Manila Symphony Orchestra at the CCP.

Haven't met sir Wally personally and would've loved to meet him. Seems like a very unassuming, down-to-earth guy.. one of the greatest Pinoy guitarists ever. RIP sir Wally.
