From start to finish, the creation of a vase. Using kiln-formed glass to produce a patterned disc, which is placed onto a ceramic ring within the kiln and heated until the glass drops through into a vase shape. The glass form then has the excess glass cut away before diamond grinding and polishing produces required shape and finish.

It's only bloody gorgeous!
This is spectacular. Thank you for inspiring
You make it look easy. Patience obviously works
wow thanks
Очень красиво! как вы обработали края вазы?
I love the way you make it seem so possible to make such beautiful projects. Recently took your geometric class and can't wait to apply the lessons! You mentioned the cold work to be done and flattening the bottom on this vase. I was wondering how that gets done. I'm new to fusing and I've made several bowls but of course they are rounded and wonder how to "flatten" the bottems.
Thank you for your comment.. And thank you for your support.. I look forward to seeing you post some your work.
Also.. I would highly recommend attending a cold-working class, there are so many intricacies and techniques that it is an art form in itself.
That is so amazing
Very suspenseful. Quite a trick Ian!
That is beautiful work. What amazing craftmanship! 👏👏👏
That belongs in my home mate!
I left it on display at the Glass Underground.
a beautiful piece
I don't know if i am brave enough to do that Ian!!!
Perhaps one the THE most beautiful drop pieces I've ever seen. Your work is meticulous from start to finish. I hope you will continue to inspire us all with more videos. Gorgeous work!
Thank you so much❤
Beautiful!
Thank you! It is so lovely.
Stunning! Wish my rims came off so smoothly!
Thank you for sharing. You are a real inspiration. Such a stunningly beautiful piece. You make the process look so easy, which I know took many hours and days from start to finish. Look forward to future videos. 😎
Thanks Debbie.. I appreciate your support ❤️
❤❤ Thank you. X
❤
That is a gorgeous piece! LOVE the intricate pattern, well done! I have never seen a rim removal like that but I am so glad you showed it because it is important, I feel, to be able to do things manually like that. That was quite brilliant! I hope you will post pix or a short video of the finished piece. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you.. I think I do have a video...
Wonderful, love the colors!
Beautiful piece! I'm trying to replicate another one of your designs. I've got it drawn out and will begin soon following the instructions from your Bullseye class.
That's a wonderful process Ian 👍👍👍
Why did you delete the stringer plate video?
Thanks for the scraping/spraying tip. I've always made a mess cleaning off my kiln shelf in the past, I will try this. 😊
This appears a so much more efficient and even coverage process than every kind of brush or roller I’ve tried! Great demo so am now on the hunt for the right equipment 🙂 Thanks very much!!
Great info! I clearly haven’t been getting good coverage with just the brush. The first time I made your simple geometric platter it cracked and left an imprint on the shelf. Time to get a spray gun for my compressor and also use less water. Thank you!
Beautiful piece! Thank you for the very helpful video. Any chance of Part 2, cold working the piece?
Wow!!
You made it look so easy, but I am still holding my breath.
I wonder how many of these he has done. That piece is absolutely gorgeous. Would like to know how it is done.
You make it look so easy.
Gorgeous piece! I think I held my breath during this entire video!
Must be so satisfying when then rim drops away. Awesome skill !
You had a video last week showing how you completed your stringer artwork. I came back to your site to look at it again because I was so impressed with your work and the video was gone. Can you repost the video or is there somewhere that I can watch it again?
I was looking for it, too. I would have watched it more than once if I knew it was going away.
I had no idea it is that simple, I’ve been putting off doing this bit! Thank you Ian
At last I've managed to be more consistent in rim removal following your guidance. Thank you
Dang, dude! Amazing!
Amazing just hand cut like that.
Wow!
You made that look too easy!
Beautiful vase!
Nice! I thought power tools would be required to do that.
