You dersevre it buddy 😊
Wow I’ve never seen a representation of this ever. That’s so helpful. I am gonna keep a very close eye on my posture from now on. Thanks so much for this.
@andrewjohnholt you’re welcome 😎 Thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know. Have a blast 🎷🎶🎶
Ik speel ook dat
Have fun playing🎷
U the Guy that makes the really high notes?
The really high 🎷 notes are called altissimo notes. I can play them but I like low notes better. I’m not that Guy, he just looks like me :)
F
Thx
You sure it's not caused a lot by the instrument itself moving?
Thanks for asking @canadiodleez5009! When I shook at the end it was definitely horn movement. I wanted to show all those poses on one breath so I didn’t hold each pose for long. Try it with your horn. Even small changes can give you a massive tone improvement 🎷
🚌🚌🚆🚆🚆🚆🚆
😎🎷🎶
Oh man this cool. For guitarists they say our tone is in our fingers but for you guys it’s literally in your whole body!! Amazing. What happens if you wiggle your feet?
@planzed.2 Fortunately the feet don’t affect tone as much because tapping the feet keeps the beat.. haha 😎
Love it. Wow. Are you recording on a Phone?
Yes and I’m using a Rode USB microphone. I record the video with the Rode Capture app so I can set the volume. The iPhone camera app automatically adjusts the volume so the dynamics get squashed. It’s fine for voice but doesn’t work very well with a sax.
@@TrevorDimoff yea, I was wondering. I went through a whole adventure trying to record my sax. And it seemed like you were getting a pretty good sound from your phone. But, the Rhode definitely gives it a boost. But, It occurred to me that something was missing from the phonic picture. Now I know. Man I wish I could hear you live, or with a nicer set-up. No knocking what you are using, but I just remember my experience trying to get a good sound. I just figured I needed a lot more equipment, knowledge, and money to really make it happen. I realized it's notoriously difficult to capture the essence of the saxophone. Unless of course, you spend at least 500 dollars on a mic, and have a nice acoustic treated room, and all other kinds of technical knowledge 😂.Thank you for helping me understand 😀.
I hear what you’re saying. I have the mics, sound interface, treated room and the knowledge. I set a goal of dropping a short a day for a month so I chose an easy setup. I also chose not to edit the audio because it can be time consuming. Even a pro recording is artificial, not because of the effects but because nobody listens to a sax 3 inches from the bell 🎷 The only true sound is live without a mic and the best place to listen is in the middle of the band! 🎵🎶
@@TrevorDimoff Thank you. I feel validated🥲
@@mikeysplace however I can help, brother!
I don’t mind having my scrolling being interrupted by beautiful music
Glad you enjoyed the song. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it helps the algorithm interrupt others :)
I know nothing of Saxophones I just thought they sounded cool at 5 am and was like hmmmm lemme look some up and here I am, the sound is such a cool one honestly. Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoyed it 🎶 Thanks for taking the time to comment 😎
Sounds fantastic❤. So silky. I love this. 2 questions, is that an aristocrat? And are you primarily using the the phrygian mode' or is it the harmonic minor🤔
I’m playing a 1929 Selmer, same era and similar tone. It’s mostly D harmonic minor, the chords alternate between D-7 and A7 in that song section. What do you play @mikeysplace?
@@TrevorDimoff I have the YAS-23, nothing fancy. Been playing it for four years now. I played a 1930s aristocrat once, and I loved how velvety the tone was. I thought maybe that's what you were playing. Selmer, nice, beautiful horn!
@@mikeysplace Shh, don’t talk like that about your horn. My first tenor was a Yamaha, we spent a lot of time together. Traded up to a Selmer from the late 70s and then traded it for a 1939 Lady Conn that is still my main horn… You can hear that tenor in this video: ua-cam.com/users/shortsSahY0XTVVzM?feature=share
@@TrevorDimoff Nice, those 30s horns feel good enough ergonomically to play? I know the Buescher I played, little wonky. But the sound was unparalleled. That selmer you were playing looked like it had really good ergonomics. I was surprised about the quality of the buescher especially being almost 100 years old. They just don't make them like they used to! I'll check out the lady Conn👍
@@mikeysplace I wouldn’t call them ergonomic, they have quirks but you learn to adjust. You play old horns for the tone not for speed :) Quick tip, it’s not just the horn… I’m subtoning even in the upper register 😎
Yes, it's a beautiful tune. I like it because it's not only beautiful but it has a sadness in the melody that summer will be ending like everything around us does. Thanks again🙋♀️🎷🎶🎵
You’re welcome 😎
Excellent, one of my old time favorites growing up. Nice!
Glad you enjoyed it, a favourite of mine too🎶!
Btw, I love Gato Barbieri 🎷🥰🙋♀️
Thanks Trevor, Already Liked ✔ Subscribed ✔ Continue playing, I will be listening. 🙋♀️ 🎶🎼🎵🎶🎷
Thanks for taking the time to comment, @maximus1811. Glad you enjoyed listening. Do you play sax?
LOVE LISTENING TO THE SAXOPHONE... ❤🇺🇸🙋♀️
Thanks for listening 🎶 :)
Black on black isn`t a good choice.
Black shirts contrast with my saxes, but you’re right! I didn’t notice until I’d already uploaded the video :)
How Come sometimes when I blow the sound is squeaky?
You have to tighten up the corners of your embouchure and make sure your reed is attached to your mouthpiece properly. Hope that helps😁
@billieboy2173, there are several reasons you might be squeaking. This video will help you figure out why you’re squeaking and how to solve it :) ua-cam.com/video/zdHKKFgstgk/v-deo.htmlsi=WWhYO0Ifjuea0-kb
Sometimes it’s that simple, but there are other reasons for squeaks :)
Best explanation on UA-cam!! Pro!! 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Glad you found the video helpful:)
How can we import a music sheet and the program sing it?
That would be awesome but Blob Opera doesn’t see or hear music. You can’t upload sheet music or play music for it. The app only responds to how you touch the blobs.
wow wow wow
It’s not magic, just a little planning :)
@@TrevorDimoff love to hear it
thanks man it helped me alot
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Glad the video helped you :)

Great video Trevor !

I did both of these songs for homework a few weeks ago. Thanks for the help
I need this SO MUCH ty!
Bag bag gggg aaaa bag
good practise idea, thanks!
HI THIS IS KYLE FRICK YOU CUZ YOU ACTING FRIENDLY BUT YOU TREAT ME LIKE DOG WATER
HOW DO ARE YOU CARRING IT WITHOUT A NECK BRACE? It's super heavy for me.
You get used to the weight of your saxophone… don’t slouch forward and make sure your saxophone stays close to you when you adjust your neck strap. If it’s still feels too heavy you can buy a neck strap with more padding. You can also buy a chest harness that puts the weight on your shoulders instead of your neck. But first watch this video on how to use your saxophone neck strap: ua-cam.com/video/toW7zEv1j3s/v-deo.html
how to make the character to sing one at a time! with getting collabed with other
You can turn each blob on and off so they don’t sing all the time.
I am laith
Hi, Laith!
My e-note on the alto saxophone always keeps squeaking and I don't know why?
Kessia, which E do you mean… low E, middle E with the octave key, or super high E with the palm keys?
Thanks!!
You’re welcome, Karen :)
Question: I do not know music and How can I use the scale to make good music? I use it as music therapy . I some time use blue and purple. I love Yellow/orange and green blob's. Thank you for showing me how.
You’re welcome, Lara. The best way to learn music is to get music lessons to learn to play an instrument or get singing lessons.
Mr dimmoff it’s me surena
Hi Surena 😎
love it!
It's a "love it" or "hate it" song... glad you enjoyed it :)
@@TrevorDimoff yup!! i definitely did this song before
Hi MRS. Difoff
Hi Andrea :)
@@TrevorDimoff No but her kid
I’m learning how to play the flute, and I love how you explain it, when my teacher explains it it’s very confusing, and I’m so glad that your not confusing as her My only problem is is that I usually accidentally press a thing I’m not supposed to press, and when I’m trying to find the right angle to put my mouth, the inside gets moist a bit to quickly and I can’t get a good sound out of it, but still you explained it very well! I can understand you more then anybody else that I watched ty<3 New sub btw
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I'm glad the video helped you :) The hardest part about starting to play the flute is finding the right position for your lips while you blow... be patient, you'll find it. This video is about how to hold the flute when you play: ua-cam.com/video/8rq29Y77xWE/v-deo.html And this playlist has some great flute videos to help you out: ua-cam.com/play/PLhmj7LiUU_egMDPRF4IyMoNL7yVQh5Z_c.html
Thanks for not playing a OCTAVE higher then my range which is A to high Bb
You’re welcome, Anthony :) You can slowly extend your range by buzzing with just your mouthpiece… have fun playing!
Hey man, i jus came across your channel i love your content it brings me back so many memories of wen i was a kid at bss. Life feels like its going realy fast it literally feels like yesterday i was runnin around causin trouble and gettin suspended from school. I miss all of the teachers at that school more then i can even express in words to the point where i would go back in time jus to relive being at bss and being a kid again. Thanks for teachin me music i still have the flute you taught me to play in grade 4. I hope one day we run into each other and catch up. Thanks again for the great childhood i had that you contributed to.
Life is quick… I’m still teaching at BSS. I hope your flute didn’t help get you suspended back in the day 🎶=💥 😎
Yuck....
Will I agree, this song does get some reluctant students singing out loud :)
@Obi wan Kenobi that’s awesome… I haven’t read the book, I bet it’s disgusting :)
can you help me with my piano. I don't the number on the keys.
Andrea, there are a few ways to find the names of the keys on your piano. Look at your keyboard and notice the patterns of black keys (groups of 2 and 3). The white note to the left of the 2 black keys is called C. Every white key above C goes up one letter in the alphabet (except G becomes A) Say or sing the letter as you play... C D E F G A B C You just played your first major scale. Now you'll need to find yourself a piano teacher (I teach all sorts of music and musical instruments but piano is not my speciality). Try these 2 tutorials: ua-cam.com/video/AqcnR-xEYdc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=PianoVideoLessons and ua-cam.com/video/HaA3_PXx6Mo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=PianoKeyboardGuide
I just started playing 2 weeks ago...THANKS for the great instruction....much appreciated!!
Glad it helped, enjoy playing your saxophone :)
