How to fix a chip in your quartz countertop | Planet Stone Marble and Granite
Переглядів 250 тис.9 років тому
John Karnitz our Operations Manager here at Planet Stone shares how he is able to fix a quartz countertop chip. While quartz can be a little trickier than fixing a granite countertop, have no fear, there is a way to repair. We always suggest you consult a professional before trying on your own but this video may give advanced DIYers some pointers and insight to help them figure it out on their ...
utterly the worst
Hard to hear with the music 😢
Unfortunately after super hlue the audience is lost. No visual or good audio of the rest of tutorial especially when not speaking into the camera. No name for spray after superglue
The music too loud and annoying
Bad video too much noise in the background
Not helpful
Cant hear a word youre sayin
why don't you turn down the music and turn up your voice
That doesn’t look the greatest you can see the the repair
The music is annoying. Can't hear u talk over music.
Great video, thanks!
when you are talking , cut the music. it's so damn hard to hear people talk when they have music playing over or along with them talking
Hard to hear over the twangy music.
🤦🏼♂️ Don’t super glue your chips people. There’s a reason this channel hasn’t uploaded in 7 years. Call a professional like me who will repair you chip properly and make them completely disappear.
I can't hear you over the music.
The country music was too loud and you're too soft spoken! i couldn't tell if you were saying 1000 grit or 2000 grit , so i just gave up and moved on.
The chip looks worse after it’s repaired
That repair looked like crap and this guy is a professional?
Is it only me or was this THE worst repair job of quartz on UA-cam? I would’ve been PISSED if someone did this to my shit.
Can’t stand the music and the audio is bad. Stopped at 50 sec, 👎
Wtf
For me it would have been better to polish the top edges on all sides of the sink hole to a larger size round over eliminating the chip all together. Rather than just filling it with b.s that will just breakdown and come out later.
How about In front of the d.w.? Would you router the entire length end to end of straight edge say 7'?
@@proudwhitestraightman1574 If it only involves labor than at least you're not coming out of pocket for more material.
Are you blind?? That looked awful. Terrible match
Turn off the annoying music - spoils the tutorial.
Why super glue? The repair was clearly visible? Why not use a specific product for the surface such as tenax which can be colour matched using paint tints and flattened and buffed up.. it would last alot longer and bring the surface back to 90% factory finish
halfway thru he just stops explaining what he's doing...
Are there any waxes or polish that can fill or hide small scratches?
Wax wouldnt last in a quartz worktop, wax should only be used for pin holes in wood surfaces like a door frame etc, which arent work surfaces such as a bench
thats a horrrible fix!
Well that repair job doesn’t look good at all Hmmmm 😳 I’d be quite dissatisied with that job 👎🏻
I was really interested in watching this video, but I had to give up, I couldn’t hear what the man was saying over the music. Such a shame.
music is too loud and hes mumbling lmao
horrible repair.
Lol that was a terrible repair
Thanks for the video ... at 1:57 into the video, what are you using?
So..is he done? Start over bro.
Save the piece... crazy glue it... fill the rest of the crack with matching nail polish. It will last forever, and will not be noticed at all.
thank you. I have the chip piece. I thought this repair looked awful...our quartz is white, so do you fill with white nailpolish and crazy glue mix or just nail polish around in the tiny remaining cracks if any? thanks. I heard surf-wax works too.
SUPERGLUE DOES NOT WORK. TRIED IT!!!!!!!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing the information!! I want you to discuss Demi bullnose edge in detail. I am planning to install Granite countertop in my kitchen with the help of pros at www.legacymarbleandgranite.com Thanks!!
This video is not very good, have a material list in the description! Not everyone has a buffer thing whatever that is. What is that color stick? Why did you tape it the second round and not first? What kind of superglue? Is there chance of discoloration?
THIS!
why music? I do not hear what the expert says. But music sound quality was excellent...
I like the music .. more people bitching because they have nothing better to do.
This is the worst thing I have ever seen. Love how they just cover their shitty job with the logo at the end of the video. How can they even post this?
And now we all know who NOT to call when you have a chipped quartz countertop in need of repair. That was the most halfassed barnjob crappy fix I've ever seen. That explains the banjo playing over the narrative. What does YOUR advertisement say "If you dropped $12,000 on a countertop and it chipped, never fear. We have SUPERGLUE AND RAZORBLADES!!!"
background music is so loud cannot hear nothing !
Some epoxy resin would have done the job better. It can mixed to any colour to satisfy your need.
Odaine Roberts I'm repairing a small gouge in marble I made from an angle grinder, I agree resin would be a better application, my gouge is about half the size of a dime, I have accumulated great amount of dust in the grinding , I'm thinking I could apply the dust to the smooth damp resin , your thoughts ?
That looks shit.. you're supposed to be a professional.. lol
w how I bought plans from woodprix and I made it very fast.
That looks like quite a bad repair job to me. Im surprised you posted this video?
Poor explanation. 👎🏼
kind of odd to not discuss the actual details of color etc??
Awful example the finished product looks terrible you just half asses lobbed filler into the chip not bothered disguising it or making it invisible
Where is your example hak? Link?
I thought quartz didn't chip.
Mary 117 mine just did 😯
I have 3 chips from the dishes
Mine has 3 chips already. I always have to be super careful.
I know, I thought that too, so sad. I am super careful and my cast-iron pan slipped rinsing and yep, IT CHIPS. I am beside myself searching repair...after seeing this guy, I think I'd rather try it myself. Saw a guy who used white surf-wax it looked really good. no glue needed.
No such thing as a chip proof stone, quartz is resistant.
