Basel shares borders with France and Germany. It lays in the three country edge. They say, they wanna make it to the 40 country corner for Eurovision and I like that. While your arguments are precise and well thought out, the images that you were using for the two possible host cities are about 50 percent wrong. No, Basel and Geneva are not part of Germany, therefore it’s rather irritating to see the Neptune fountain in Berlin 2:06, the MediaPark in Cologne 2:08 or a view of of the German city of Regensburg 3:20. And even when you predicted Basel as the host city, you mostly didn’t show pictures of that very city, but views of Zurich 4:13 and Biel 4:19. I hope that you will be able to join Eurovision 2025 in Switzerland personally, so you can get an idea of how our cities really look like. 😏

Jade is a great ally love her... but I think the UKs successful formula is an anthemic, soft rock belter sung by someone who is humble, chilled, non political with a great voice. Not sure europe completely gets our pop at the moment, so would be nervous with Jade. Although she is great 👍

In my opinion, the fact that Geneva and Basel remained in the running as candidate cities to host the Eurovision Song 2025 is also due to the fact that both cities are hubs of EasyJet, which is the official airline and sponsor of the event. Zurich is the hub of Swiss International Airlines, and EasyJet operates very few flights and destinations there. Eurovision is a commercial, basic pop-culture festival, and it attracts such an audience. For me, Gate's performance, the music, the voice of the singer, the energy of a band, is simply a masterpiece. If not the winner, then in the top 3 of this year.

It's pretty easy to answer: Norway didn't chose KEiiNO In this Eurovision there are lots of music highlighting water as background If the Norwegians would like a successful song which is sang in Norwegian, they would choose Ekko Inni Meg in Eurovision 2023, but of course, Queen of the Kings is a really Great ICON

Gate was my #6 favorite this year, and I do continue to listen to their song. I love drama and intensity in rock music, which this song definitely has. However, there was zero chance of this song winning this year, for multiple reasons: 1. There were a lot of genuinely awesome songs this year, and in varying musical styles. The ballad lovers voted for France, the pop rock lovers voted for Croatia, and Ukraine and Italy always send strong songs that don’t sound like anyone else’s and gather large vote tallies. 2. The political campaigns by far right governments in multiple countries definitely influenced the popular vote totals for Israel, and that lowered scores for most countries, including Norway. I have no interest in discussing the politics of this conflict, which is far more complicated than some people want to acknowledge. But it’s clear that the very public campaign on UA-cam and other sites asking people voters to use multiple credit cards and phones to vote for one specific country worked. 3. The jury vote was deliberately skewed for Switzerland. The Code was my #2, I’m not complaining it won, it deserved lots of jury votes. The song as crafted was always going to appeal to jury members with its mix of pop, opera, rap and wonderful, heartfelt lyrics. But giving The Code 12 points almost across the board, when there were other really good songs that should also have appealed to the juries (like France and Ukraine) just seems suspicious. 4. Staging. The staging was visually appealing, but one note. The music video for the song adds drama and interest, in comparison. 5. Sing ability. The vocalist was really good! But this is not a song the audience or I can sing along to, especially the chorus. We can appreciate it, but on a more intellectual level rather than having a more emotional connection. A lot of comments I see online state Norway was underrated and robbed. I agree, but when only the top ten songs out of 27 are awarded points from each country, these things happen. I expected this from the public, but thought Norway would have gotten a better jury score. A lot of words to say Norway sent a really good song, but not a song designed to appeal to most of the Eurovision audience.

Gate was one of my top three acts, maybe even the winner this year. But it went over the heads of the average audience.

While I preferred KeiiNo in the heats, I genuinely believed Gate could possibly win Eurovision.

The answer is simple. Croatia did not want the organization of the ESC for many justified reasons. Switzerland was predetermined as the host country. Accordingly, Nemo was selected from among several offered performers. The song was written for the jury. In the end, the jury agreed and sent the ESC to Switzerland. Croatia won televoting, which is great for Marko's future career.

"Why didn't Croatie win 2024?" well... it got less votes than swiss, so that's probably why, just guessing here... but i'd assume that the youtube channel "Eurovision 365" understands how the Eurovision works, so this is kinda disappointing

They did win. They won the votes of millions of people who were watching and voting. Much more important than getting a trophy.
