it might not be detecting your 2nd sd card. try a different one (Even if smaller) just to confirm

you can change the emulated cpu in dosbox settings, but the r36s cant handle anything faster and it will actually slow everything down

another user had the same issue. try copying just one NES game over to the NES folder manually, and see if that works. if so, you can manually copy each system folder one by one (it shouldnt take too long)

@@SjslTechyeah, that’s the next thing I was gonna try. Think I’ll have to start from the beginning and format and reflash the SD card though. I’ll comment back once I try it out

@@dufuss5158 i think the other users issue was slightly different folder names, so copying the entire drive over in one go didn't work. hopefully same issue for you

if you cant get runelite to start anymore, i would just do a fresh install. it could have glitched out, or maybe the gpu plugin (hd?) doesnt work very well on chromeos\your chromebook

sounds like your sd card is full. you would have to delete some games to fit it on, or buy a bigger sd card

@@SjslTech It was the same 64 to 64 gb cards so nothing changed, but yes deleted some folders.

@@MartinsApinis89 oh you have just done a fresh arkOS install? its possible the new versions system files are slightly larger (apparently 154mb larger)

i cant confirm if they will work in slot 2, but they should be find in slot 1. i would rec a fresh arkos install, but if you dont want to go that route you could use something like "imageUSB" to clone the cards (simply copy pasting all the files wont work sadly)

all emulators are built in by default. arkOS hides any system it cant find ROMs for, so all you have to do is copy gameboy roms over to the gameboy folder and they will show up

@@acores377 very strange. try creating a folder called "gb" under easy roms and adding a .gb file there

its available on portmaster, and afaik it uses the same engine, so should play perfectly. the steps to install would be the same as Vice City

it sounds like it could be a bad install of arkOS, or more likely it doesnt like the rom. as a test, try copy a small NES rom over, unzipped, and dont forget to safely eject the SD card from the computer before removing

I had to google what the R40s Pro is, and it looks like its just a rebadged r36s (even has same pcb apparently). if you still have access to the stock SD card, i would back everything up just incase. Since it seems its just an R36S, this guide should work for you but be aware i havent tested it to confirm. Just try a fresh install on the new sd when it arrives and let us know how you go

just checking you put them all in the correct folders? NES roms inside the NES folder, SNES inside snes, etc? are they zipped or unzipped? if zipped, what format? also, if you press start inside arkOS, theres an option to "refresh roms list" which might be worth trying

@@SjslTech yes well I just copied all ROMS from the stock SD and pasted it in a backup folder on my Windows. And in the end copied everything 1:1 on the EASYROMS partition. When I check the folders on my pc, some folders appear to be empty, others aren't (zip folders in it, some just weird files). Should all folders be extracted first?

@@markoosterling7480 zip files should be fine for most\all systems. i would manually copy 1 game (NES for example), make sure its extracted first for testing, and place it inside the correct easyroms folder just to see if the issue is with arkos or the roms

@@SjslTech ok weird but true, ran a test with the game "wimbledon" from gamegear, unzipped it and copied to drive. Now it is visible. Bad news, I think I need ALL folders to do them one after one haha

@@markoosterling7480 i would delete the unzipped game from the console, and instead try copy the same game zipped over. if that works, then it wouldnt take too long to copy entire folders over

I actually have a video out in the next hour or so on getting GTA VC to run, and the steps should be the same for half life 2, but the scummvm games sounds like a neat video idea! thanks for the suggestion!

if you only have 2 smaller cards and dont have access to 1 larger card, you can "add the storage space together" to make a little more room for roms

from what i have seen, the filesize is fine but some brands might not work (although it will work fine in slot 1)

if you are using a fresh SD card (and not the one it came with), try writing the iso to the sd card as normal. its possible you have "hide known file extensions" enabled in windows too

@@PR0JEKT7 sounds like its failing to download. are you downloading the v4 file from the google drive link? double check its called "ArkOS_R35S-R36S_v2.0_09292024_P4.img.xz" on the google drive page right before confirming the download

@@SjslTech It is called that. After I press download it starts downloading as a zip.

@@PR0JEKT7 while its downloading, click your download manager in whatever browser you are using to make sure its around 2.5Gb. once downloaded, double check the file is actually 2.5gb before extracting. also, are you using 7zip to extract?

I have installed the operating sistem and it does work ,but i have no games ,AND from the old sd card i can’t GET them Because IT does not show me the easyroom folder

@@JosipJelic-s1h ahh, are you on a windows pc? if so, its possible windows didnt "auto-mount" the 2nd parition. if so, you can open "disk management", find your sd card in there (look for correct size and drive letter of the first partition), and right click on the 2nd partition (should be the larger of the 2) and click "assign drive letter" - can just pick whatever letter is free. click next\ok and it should show up in explorer

why are you using partition wizard? im not sure what you are trying to do

theres an option in arkos on the r36s that lets you change between 1 and 2 sd cards. I have another video that shows how to configure a 2 SD card setup if thats what you were interested in. by default, arkos is configured for 1 sd card though

are you 100% it is a genuine console and not a clone? if its legit, you could copy your old dtb files from the original sd card over

are you using a high quality sd card? this sounds like the symptoms of a failing sd. when pressing save state (fn + right trigger), does it say "state saved" on screen?

try copy different screen DTB files (or just copy the ones you backed up over)

yeah there shouldnt be any issues. you just need to tell it to use SD2 for roms from the options menu

although they are both 2.0, there would be many smaller updates (like v2.0.X.Y.Z) in the newer versions, but you dont really need to do a fresh install. if you are happy with it out of the box. The included SD card is likely to fail fairly quickly, so at the minimum you should backup the boot files to make a fresh install easier down the line (and the roms if you like)

@@SjslTech Oh? If that's the case, may I just copy from the original SD card, paste it to my laptop, and then just copy and paste it to the new SD card?

@@DavidandBE unfortunately its not quite that simple. if you dont want to do a fresh install, you could use something like "imageUSB" to clone the cards, but you would need to make sure the new sd card is larger than the old one (and maybe expand the ROMs partition afterwards)

you only need to do this is your screen doesnt work with the default arkOS you installed, and you didnt upload your screen file to the online tool to check which version you have. download all the folders from the git shown (screen 1, screen 2, etc), then copy the boot.ini and dtb files over to the boot partition of your fresh ArkOS install (it should ask if you want to overwrite the existing files, press yes). safely eject the sd card from the pc, pop it back in the r36s and see if it works. if still nothing on the screen, repeat the steps again for the next screen files (eg, screen 2)

there have been reports of certain sd cards not working in slot 2, and as far as i know there is currently no fix other than trying a different sd in that slot or just using slot 1 for both roms and OS

glad you got it working again! as for wifi, there was an issue on an older version of arkOS (a few versions back) where the wifi was broken. they mentioned a manual fix but you would need to check the git or reddit for exact steps

@@SjslTech I ended up just installing Rocknix. After discovering the correct dtb file for my screen - thanks to your video - I was able to install Rocknix properly too! And my wifi dongle works fine with Rocknix, so everything worked out great.

as far as i know, there shouldnt be any issues with various SD card brands for the boot sd (only when using it in the 2nd sd slot).

yeah when starting fresh you only need the 1 SD. I have made another video on how to setup dual SD cards if thats something you want to do (but you still need to install a fresh copy of ArkOS first)
