@@ezzatheartist I think they do! I found the source of the bugs in my house - some decorative logs our landlord put there, with a pile of sawdust under it and holes everywhere - and saw some of these bugs flying away from the logs :)

@@ezzatheartistthey fly, I’ve got them in my rental, I know it’s woodworm too because I took my bath panel off and there’s loads of holes in the floorboards, I even found one half emerging from the timber.

Are these common furniture beetles? I have spotted few beetles in my bedroom, which look like this, but not sure if they are furniture beetles or drugstore

Hi, They do not destroy clothes…… they are wood destroying insects and infest untreated softwood which requires to be treated to deal with the active infestation

@@syncrovanCos well there are plenty of woodworm treatments you can buy off Amazon that should deter them, it's easy to be disgusted when it comes to infestations and want to just spend the problem away, but this can cost thousands and a bottle of treatment might cost you £20 for decent stuff.

@@syncrovanCos Whatever you use, dont use those that either contain water or those that are meant to be diluted down with water.. NO WATER, ever.. Obviously.. High humidity is what keeps those asshole alive so drying the f*ck out of that wood makes them just not survive, if you was to use some chemicals make sure its not water-based, and if you supposed to dilute it, make sure they write you can dilute it down with pure alcohol.. Personally I myself had a really bad infestation in a loft, they were spreading all around the wooden construction supports that hold the entire roof, almost all supports and stuff are like 10x15 cm (4x6 in) in dimensions and its almost impossible to get rid of them completely no matter what you do, especially because humidity still passes thru the roof so I cant really completely dry it off, no matter how many de-humidifiers or drying procedures I use.. I ordered some rough chemical treatment, I ordered some company service to do it, , it worked only to like 90%, but still when I went up I could hear those assholes chewing away here or there, but not anywhere as much as before.. Then the leader-ish guy from that company told me, that its pretty much as good as it gets, and that I should cover-up the parts of the wood which wont have any insulation around it so when the worms evolve into beetles they cant move on the wood surface as easily and makes them mating with each other really difficult and then its just a matter of days until they die. He told me that a really cheap way to do that is to put insulation onto those uncovered parts and compress it and fix it in place with some plastic mesh that can be normally bought, or that I could also use some glue on it and put it on those surfaces which will immediately trap any beetle that tries to emerge and when it cant or it gets caught on it, it will usually die within 8 to 12 days.. :::::::edit::::::::I forgot to add that I ended up using a non-drying glue, they sell it in boxes of 250 ml (+-8.5 ounces) and you directly apply it onto the surface, I bought like 20 of those lol, tho it wasnt that expensive, it cost me around 110 eur (130 usd).. Its really sticky, and as long as it doesnt get too dirty on its surface it will stay sticky for 10+ years, originally intended to use on trees where you apply it to the parts of tree bark/crust itself and it traps the insects which are damaging the tree

@@syncrovanCos Yeah in such case of something like a camping van or similar, replacing the whole flooring should cost almost the same as properly treating it, If it was me I would probably try to dry it off as much as I can because their activity is way lower in low humidity wood, and then leave it be until it starts to fall apart and then have it replaced (what might take years even decades depending on how bad it is at this time) but this way it might affect potentially other wood in its interior if theres some, if so you should check for damage and if needed apply that kind of like colorless paint coat that is ment to be used with wood I forgot how its called, it will reduce the chance of them getting in there from like underneath of it for example
