Did you have to take out the down pipe to get to the torque converter bolts or did you have a solution around it. Would really appreciate the response.
P0741 on my 2017 BMW F06 GC. What can I do now ?
Do you have to remove the fan just to take out the thermostat?
Master ! Hero !
Dude you got lucky. Ext time remove the caliper atleast could of destroyed the flex hose
Thanks, much better than the way to disconnect through the fender well
Excellent video. Thank you!
Boy should have watched your video first. Work smart not hard as they say.
Ok nah bro. You filled it when it was too hot first and youre instructing to fill it after measuring it cold. A simple zip thru the gears with ensure its distributed properly as you fill it but the whole thing should be simplly one "safe" warm reading.
Sounds like you don’t know what you’re talking about.
How much coolant did you needed
Thanks
Bearing puller kit costs about $50; better, knowing in advance that you have to remove the bearing from the shaft (it's a press fit) why not rent a puller from your local parts supply shop. About $10 for half a day; a smoother operation, better than trying to beat the crap out of the old one hoping it comes off.
Great not having to take the whole shaft down and out. I’m inspired to try this very soon. 👍🔧
where to buy ISTA and how to use it? Appreciate you doing and sharing as well!
Did you figure out why the pan didn't drain? about to drop my pan and don't want that surprise!!
Do you need to align the wheels
Broken "few" rubber and plastic pieces? That's a great way of sugaring it, in my case Broken off more plastic and rubber pieces that are there
Dude, just curious; what coolant was on the vehicle? Why isn't it blue? Oh, there's an aluminum option for the thermostat housing, just an FYI which is better than plastic.
Good day
You snapped the B+ cable and said you would show how to fix it when you put it back and didn't do that... How did you fix it??
Great vid, thanks!
Do you know the dimensions for each of the pressure regulators o-rings?
Where'd you order your parts from? Trans regular and rebuild for the torque converter?
Опорный подшибник продавленый будет рвать стакан. И прокочять надо было аморик прежде чем ставить.
good technique but please watch out for the brake lines, seen to many people brake them doing it like that, best to remove the caliper a little more work but saves you a lot of time and money if the line snaps
Would a bad torque converter leak out trans fluid recently got code p0741 from my e39 and found a huge puddle of trans fluid in my driveway before this it was running fine never had a trans issue before
Thank you for this video boss, helped me out a lot!
I liked the video. Very well filmed. And Your technique is helpful. But you have made a great mistake: you should have unbolted the break caliper. The way you stressed thay brake line pulling down on it to remove the strut is something completely forbbiden as you cam damage it and risk it fails while driving your car on the road. Beware every one who takes this video as a reference!
6:01 TV lady in the background said "oh shit" just after you removed the part :D
I like your eyes at 3:54 :D they are very relatable :D
Make sure you push in the torque converter in all the way or it can damage allot.. It has to connect to the oilpump
2023 used your information in order to install Koni struts. Thank you, this gave me a great heads-up on what to expect. The technique on stepping on the brake work a treat.
What is a good thermostat replacement part
Make sure to torque
Great instructional & detailed video for dyi'rs I have a 03 530i (unfortunately it auto) but plan on getting aluminum intake manifold n needed the know how & thanx to you I know have just that! Thank you kindly
Full support bro
I keep stripping screws, righty tighty lefty loosy no working
When you stood on the breaks to get the strut out you should be careful not to damage the brake lines.
I'm a BMW tech, but I haven't had a lot of time with the older stuff. It's time to do the struts on my wagon. The diagrams and repair instructions are so much different than the actual work that is required. Thanks!
Nice video, it just shows wrong position of spring on shock, correct position is in SACHS installation manual which is OEM for my BMW shocks, I cant put link in PDF because it got deleted.... If you ask I might try again
The exact video i was look for lmaoo thanks for the struggle
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Managed to replace my struts in 4 hours or so (without power tools), and the car rides much more securely
Glad I have a trans jack. I'm going to put all 4's up on 12" wheel chocks seeing that I don't have my lift installed yet. Fighting same code for the past 7 years, lost the rear main seal last year so it's now time to replace the torque converter which I've had for 4 years new in a box just waiting to be installed. Anyone interested in a 1994 e34 530 540 transplant?
Thank you so much 😊
Did u locktite the converter ?
Thank you I have the same problem when I looked I was shocked how badly worn the center bearing was I cant believe I let it get that bad, hahaha I just finished doing the rear ball joints that was fun
i've seen videos where they had to remove the shock to make it easier? Did you have to remove it?
9:55 UNLCEAR.
Do you know if it’s normal for the output shaft to be able to move back and forth a bit
In and out of the engine, yes. Just a tad. If it's side to side then there's an issue
