  • @robertthebard
    @robertthebard 4 місяці тому

    My only "complaint" with DCT is that I want to feel "involved". I don't care what someone else is riding though, as long as they're riding. The "not a real motorcycle" argument is older than I am, and that's saying something, since I'll be 61 this month. My CB 750 custom was a moped, to ask my Harley riding brothers, until I beat one of them in a light to light race, then it was a "quick moped"... Can't win... I've heard "It's a car" more than a few times where my wings were concerned, so it's a bit odd that wing riders would play into the stereotype, but meh.

  • @juliusebanculla3649
    @juliusebanculla3649 5 місяців тому

    if you you can shift better & smoother than the dct (specially with a pillion without you guys bumping heads during acceleration, braking & shifting), then i get it. otherwise, it’s just an ego thing. people say they like to be in control & feels disconnected without a clutch.. it’s the throttle & brakes that’s gives you that sensation, not the clutch. other than the friction zone, there’s nothing more to the clutch. throttle & braking however has more things too factor in. if you think “fun” is in the clutch, you must’ve always been stuck in traffic lol.

I’ve also read that the extended warranty didn’t cover it - I hope that’s not the case for you. Good thing you have the Zumo. The first thing I noticed though was the flashing snowflakes of death - on a DCT many times that would be a no-start, so at least you’re rolling. Were you able to switch riding modes? I really liked my Gold Wing (DCT) - it was a great bike but I sold it before I started having weird electrical issues. Nice ride you had here though. Let us know what the outcome is. 👍

    Think the bar weights are important. Not reinstalling them may have unforeseen consequences down the road.

    Nice job! Now that youve had it mounted for a while how has it held up? Any weight restrictions?

    You didn't say what the problem was. These switches are defective from the factory? Why aren't you having the dealer pay for them!

    • @motorider4130
      @motorider4130 Рік тому

      Yes the micro clutch switch on the left side went bad and Honda covered it. It took a month of back and forth between the dealer and Mother Honda..

    Regarding the question, why the drain bolt is an Allen screw, I suspect it was chosen because the required tool (rod with six corners) is slim and protects the surrounding cables from damage and accidental tearing off.

    I added a Givi SRA 1172 rack and a Givi TRK52 top box. At the time of buying my non-tour gold wing the tour version trunk didn’t hold two helmets. And in the UK the price difference was about incredible. I already had the top box so it was a no brainer! Thanks for the video Appreciate it.

    Thanks for the video! After seeing and reading about so many of these being low, I decided to check mine on the 2021 DCT I have. The level was just below the bottom threads - easily reachable with the tip of my finger. So I'm calling that close enough. I only have about 1100 miles. I'll probably change it out with Amsoil Synthetic Severe Gear 75W-90 at my first oil change. I'm looking forward to using their easy squeeze pack 👍.

    Thank you for keeping it real! It really does just come down to preference. It can be too easy to get caught up in thinking one way or the other. Especially the whole “dct doesn’t make you a “real” motorcyclist” thing. It’s what you enjoy!!

    Can you get any bett fuel economy with the manual transmission? With the low-rpm torque people claim with the nc750, you could be in a higher gear at lower speeds (especially going downhill, or perhaps if coasting to a stop), whereas an auto transmission may downshift when you’d prefer it not to. I’m just making assumptions, as I haven ridden in 9 years, let alone ridden an nc750.

      On backroads and highway riding I usually get any where from 48-50 mpg. On highways I use cruise as much as possible..it seems to help quite a bit. When coming to a stop always downshifting for engine braking with brakes. When cruising backroads I try to keep it between 4-5th depending on the road..6th when cruising along at around 50. The low end torque is great for not shifting too much.

      @@motorider4130 Ok thanks. I’ve read some comments that claimed they got over 80 mpg, but I’m wondering if they confused their units of measurement.

      @@GeneralSirDouglasMcA that would be pretty insane to get 80mpg 😂 never heard that before.
