While this song's actual meaning is the furthest thing from Pingxie dynamic, I always felt that the lyrics really fit them if taken in the most literal sense. How did you feel about the way Tibetan Sea Flower also known as Adventure Behind the Bronze Door was produced? I felt sad that there were very few parts where Zhang Qiling was involved. The Chinese producers aged Wu Xie a lot after the first few episodes. Fatty was great though he had a very small part in the script. Thanks for the video
@@DennisCambly Hi! As someone who has read the specific book this drama was adapted from and has read the entire series + watched all the other shows, I think this drama in particular did a great job of being true to the source material plus adjusting some parts that were sloppy in the book (which is still incomplete, btw) and introducing new sections that helped the story fit better into the overarching narrative. Of course, there were some imperfect parts. But that's a given with any adaptation and I forgave those because overall I was pretty satisfied. I had no problem with Zhang Qiling having few scenes because he's *not* supposed to be present in the time period covered in this show- he's still inside the Bronze Gate when Zanghaihua takes place. Therefore he only appears in flashbacks etc. Fatty's role to begin with is to be Wu Xie's rock and biggest support and bestie, and did just that and exemplarily so, in my opinion. They even created lot more Fatty-Wu Xie bond moments than in the book. As for Zhang Luyi (Wu Xie actor), yes I agree visual wise he's not in the best age range to portray the Wu Xie in the period, BUT he's a veteran actor and had a thorough understanding of the role and the kind of mentality he was supposed to portray, and NPSS (the book's writer), personally chose him for the role. @@BeanInDice I too have all of the DVD sets for every part of the series along with the books. For fans of Zhang Qiling he could have been written into the story with some flashbacks to the original series. Zhang Luyi may have a great understanding as millions of fans do. It was too much of a leap in years. It's a part of the mystery that Fatty shows as he barely aged at all. My feeling is that, the communist #China censors didn't want it to feel as though the two mains characters, had a bromance between them so they aged Wu Xie far beyond Zhang Qiling.

@@DennisCambly just use this logic to comfort your heart, zhang haihua took place 5 years after the main story & since Zhang Qiling took his place behind the closed door. At this time period, Wuxie has gone through a depressing years, his guilt feeling of having Xiaoge took his place, Xiao hua still in hospital, his guilt towards xiuxiu, pan zi death, uncle three still missing & he still feels guilty towards fatty about the truth of yuncai's death. So basically he was facing his difficulty alone in the five years, so i'm not surprised he looks older.
Personally, I love Wu Xie actor in this, I just hated how they dressed him 😂. He looks older than his actual age because of his fashion style (how come reunion Wuxie actor have better fashion style when he supposed to be the older Wuxie 😅). Another thing bothering me is how they seems to changed alot of storyline which making behind the bronze door plot not aligning with the novel especially Zhang Haike as the last villain (because I have a soft spot for him in the novel, he absolutely far from being a villain, novel zhang haike is a loyalist, if anything he's the most enthusiastic person in trying to revive the Zhang family. Most importantly anyone who nice to our Xiaoge is not a villain 😭😭) but yeah each was their own canon so.. Also, i kinda think they failed to portray about the wang family involvement in everything. They somehow didn't even appear in the end? Mutuo is supposed to be the place where wuxie start to learn about the wangs & plan his sand sea counterattack so i naturally think all of this should be delivered in Tibetan sea flower storyline. Which i think "adventure behind the close door" failed to convey. Well, the novel itself stopped at the climax so all of this is just my theory. So yeah I just feels like i been trying to close a plothole by digging another plothole by watching this 😅.

This song fits so well. It's honestly really sad, Zhang Qiling and Xie Yuchen will have to watch Wu Xie and Xie Yuchen grow old and die (and that's the best case scenario....) while they stay as they are. Xie Yuchen will probably be ok after a while, but for Zhang Qiling it's established that Wu Xie is his only connection to the world. the only thing (besides his skills) he remembers when he loses all his memories. Losing Wu Xie will be losing EVERYTHING.
