Ripped directly from my DVR recording using Garage Band '09. Video made using iMovie '09. Main reason for doing this was I couldn't find decent audio quality of the videos posted. There was a stutter in the recording at approx. 1:40. Sorry. Nothing is perfect sadly. Enjoy! Download link: www.mediafire.com/?904u0kjcxdt7puq It's 320 kbps mp3.
Meh.. it’s decent. I’m going to go listen to the original before this cover ends
Pretty good. Fixing that stutter would be pretty easy with pretty much any wavetable program. Audacity is my personal recommendation. Thanks for this anyway though.
Amazing guys <3
This cover makes me feel as good as I ever have.... They actually gave this song some emotion unlike the monotone version the National did ..... That said I love both renditions & Marcus is the key to why their's is better ;)
This has got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read. You're bad at music.
Shawn Newman Sorry Shawn if I offended you..... I am an old rocker from the 60's & Mumford gave music a huge lift :) God Bless !!!!!
The national does have emotion , the singers voice is just super deep.
Wish this genre of music would over throw the crap that's on the radio.
great song!
This cover feels so bright.. I like the mellow original. I am not saying this isnt good. Infact its great.. But i just relate to original
Ditto....
Wrong.... they gave it soul & passion... 65 years old & seen everybody from the 60's to now but these guys crush them all !!!!
Marcus makes this song soulfully magnificent & I love both versions but damn he is effin incredible :)
How have I never seen this before? Oh, because everything MTV is blocked in Australia. >__> My two favourite bands smooshed into one song. It's perfect.
at least spell it right buddy
i was at a national show tonight, and when they played this they gave a nod to this cover. careful to point out that this band is indeed made up of talented musicians.
why are you here?
I think the song is just so good that it doesn't matter who plays it, it will always be beautiful!
Too fast, I think. Would have been absolutely wonderful if it was just a touch slower. Still lovely.
Mumford are great, but they destroyed the soul of this song.
It's okay, champ, we're all entitled to our own 'opinion'.
hey i like your comment
...in music today
No Marrius I really don't. I rarely start listening to anything new. But, when I do listen to radio, I don't hear anyone, that's popular, that remotely sounds like M&S. It's all techno, hip hop, r&b, or country. If there are other bands out there that are comparable then they're probably not that good. Since they haven't broke out the way M&S has. I just thought the comment about M&S being everything wrong with music today, was a pretty asinine comment, when they are nothing like what's popular
*sense, since
Caio, you're comment makes no since Mumford & Sons is the most unique band that's come about for twenty years. They're nothing like anything else in "popular" music. In fact, the only reason they are considered in "pop" in America is because they are just that good. They are extremely difficult to dislike.
calm down daniel, you are being a stupid, let him with his thougths and enjoy the music. If you dont like its your opinion and if you want to tell everyone what you think its ok but this is not the way. I really enjoy Mumford & Sons music, as much as I enjoy the national music
You don't know how much i love you mumford, but this song.... Seriously it's none of your business :( Soul of this epic piece of art is Matt Berninger
love both bands, they both bring something different to the song but each version is equally as good as each other. But i must say probably just because i'm British i can understand Marcus Mumford's pronouciation of the words more easily, but thats probably because i'm just used to hearing that accent more than an american one.
i have both of their albums and a shirt that my bro got me and this song is awesome they make such graceful yet strog music
How have I never heard this when The national and Mumfords and Sons are two of my favourite bands?! This is amazing, but nothing on the original.
Both the cover and the original are amazing. The original just has a different feel than that of Mumford & Sons
@daniel11357 you're wasting precious comment space. Go away.
It's awesome, just like the rest of Mumford's songs
Forever love mumford and sons #folk!
Horrible.
You're wrong. The original version is perfection and doesn't "need" anything. This idiot is in totally the wrong register and he can't even pronounce "Los Angeles" properly.
For me, I mean.
it is too fast
I have never been so excited for a cover ever.
argue?... lol alright, but no you're wrong this is better :) hahaaah.
You can tell it's been awhile since you've seen a video when you say "Wow, that guy with the top comment is saying exactly what I was thinking! I wonder wh- wait half a darn minute..."
even though this is a cover, its one of my favorite Mumford and Sons songs
It's totally pointless to compare them... both are great in their own way of makin their fantastic music! I enjoy every day listening em both... so stop trying to argue about who's better or whatever... just enjoy listening! Take it or leave it, i dont understand! pace
"beautiful melodic piece of art" - it's a bit douchey to say. music is art, but there's just something about that description that has an element of douche to it. why not just say "song" instead of "work of art"? and "so sue me" - comes off as juvenile and standoffish. has kind of a "so what of it?" vibe to it. but i dunno, maybe i'm just a pissy wanker.
one of their best covers from m&s i have heard. truly way better than the original
not sure about anyone else but I actually kinda like the quicker tempo. one of the better covers of any song I've heard in awhile too. love the national's version too of course.
meh the National never achieved this standard.
as a fan of both bands i'm totally accepting of your opinion, but i feel the desire to sue you for your standoffish, douchey way of expressing it.
his voice is just a great baritone and Mumford is a sweet british raspy tenor
yes, yes he does have has the perfect voice
I love how their covers show their varied music taste. And i love how they have the exact same music taste as me...
I just noticed.. near 2 :25, The backup singer ( Winston or Ben) messes up the lyrics!
