5 years later , the intrinsic value of this video is here. The Q trains are now M trains . The Pig trains are now called Tote train with an I(intermodal) identity. Amtrak has purchase d new engines (Chargers) . I have moved from Fort Lauderdale to Kentucky and recognized some of these trains that comes thru Nashville. The Totes consist mostly double stacks than TOFC. Lastly, thanks to Precision SchedulingRailroad, DistributivePower has been added to double the length of many trains. ....how time changes things. It would be great if you can repeat this again this year to compare the changes. Awesome video . 5 years ago i was in the telecommunications industry watching the mainline throughout my shift. A 48year old dream , Now im sitting away from terminal waiting on 026 thats 12hrs away. How time changes.

You have to do this multiple days at one place thing in La plata MO. You’ll get 140-150 trains in a 50 hours

When I first went there in 2001, the average train count in 24 hrs was around 45 including Amtrak. Only 49 trains in a whopping 60 hours is pretty sad.
