It's a literal translation. There's not really an equivalent phrase in english for 'bishounen'. Although the term 'pretty boy' has negative connotations colloquially, it still has merit as a direct translation. Adonis is too particular and while it can evoke the idea of a beautiful young male- it's more of just a name than anything else.
