Playing chess makes you as smart as plsying valorant does..both are just games.. don't overthink this shit too much
I think strategy and tactics are skills of their own. I used to have a very little interest in chess, but after playing warhammer and making progress with my tactical and strategical skills, I started to appreciate and enjoy chess a lot more. And strategy is basically about making the best of you limited resources, tactics is about execution of that plan. And to evaluate tactics one requires all of the skills - visualization, theoretical knowledge, a little bit of probability intuition or knowledge, a little bit of psychology. They are surely complex skill, because they depend on a set of different soft and hard skills, but still a skill that is more than the sum of its parts.
Idiot robot! How was 2018 bad you b*****d. You son of a b**ch. B*****d
For me, When i started playing Chess it was hard. But after 1 year i saw a significant advantage in focus, and visualization of Mathematics equation. It would be like Math and Chess is related Because in Chess you can calculate as many variations. And for Math, It can help when you dont know how to solve an equation because you can calculate the possibilities. : )
not to forget the memorization skills, i can play blindfolded chess now with mental math
Obviously playing chess as a beginner and knowing absolutely nothing, and then not studying at all, obviously you won't become any smarter playing chess. If you actually study and learn openings, tactics, ideas, strategy, etc. Then yes you will become smarter playing chess like me
Playing chess seriously, and I mean literally calculating lines, choosing best moves, building plans and recognise some patterns improves not only visualisation, but also analytical skills, calculation skills, memory , concentration, planning and patience etc. There is many things that chess can improve in your brain. It’s rightfully called the intellectual game cause through history there was many mathematicians, scientists, doctors and other prestigious professions that played this game and had a grandmasters title. It’s a very deep game, and to play it perfectly at the highest level is extremely hard for people, that’s why we will never win against the strongest engines, but we still can constantly keep improving
Is your channel dead?
After the boom of IAs (mostly openAi) the game feels like it could become a reality even before the date of 2038
Believe me this is my game!
Chess won't make you smarter when you're playing bullet (and maybe blitz) chess, especially when your focus when studying is opening theory
really well laid out video and well researched. thanks mate.
This video mad underrated
Honestly you're absolutely right 👍💯
Yes
*Does chess REALLY make you smart?* *Me; NO! I'VE BEEN PLAYING CHESS FOR 5 YEARS AND STILL NOTHIHG*
You must already be relatively smart then, also have you improved in chess?
@ahmadmunif7479 your brain doesn't visualize humour ? I bet you're not a Chess player
@ahmadmunif7479 you're way way too slow
Hikaru visualising the end of the game
I like chess because you can learn it in 10 mins and you spend your life in it to be a very good at it. “ chess is life “. Bobby Fischer
It sure makes you arrogant
bro your are way too smart to have 197 subs
Now I have to programm a robot, who can change his programm and give himself life choices.
“One study shows.” Proceeds to pull up a scatter plot with like 50 points….NOT to mention the 190000 games comment. This video is killing me.
So then perhaps those who are naturally quite creative would be good at chess? It would make sense since they tend to be good at visualising things
How often should you play or practice to see benefits?
there are more than 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 games of chess not just 200,000!
Anything which constantly improve and practice make you smarter. Please find another ways to enlighten us.
Please explain
Chess makes you dumb. #9LX makes you smart.
WDYM thats a version of chess lol. where proof?
@@log-907 I get that you're new, but do you know Gasai what a joke is? Lol. I am saying this to promote 9LX to disparage regular chess in that it's as if this change in chess, which is a small change to most players, has a large impact.
@@nicbentulan was your entire comment and it's meaning a joke?? because I am not new. I have seen some of your crazy posts around the freestyle chess goat challenge as well. if it wasn't, don't try to promote something by stating incorrect information.
Upload more videos bro
I used to be pretty good at chess but I had to be in the mood. I could beat my chest wizz history teacher with half my pawns removed. That's how I got an A that semester. A bet. "I'll remove half my pawns and still beat you if I can get an A". The last game I played, I wasn't interest at all and just set my self up to loose. I wasn't in the mood to use my brain.
I didn't retain a damn thing. Too distracted by accent.
Chess help in the decision making

Good video man
Yes anything that trains your brain makes you smart like anime etc
I've been getting into chess lately and I've noticed that I can only do things now if it has backup plan. Take advantage of people mistakes while looking for a way to make them regret it. I feel toxic I kinda don't like it
CHESS SUCKS. Chess makes you dumb. #9LX makes you smart.
@@nicbentulan ok grandma
@@Ziel.. what? I was saying I agree with you that chess is a toxic game.
i sense lack of good parenting in you
@@karicartes hahaha. imagine his kid going "dad can we go get ice cream?" "Not unless your bishop is unpinned"
Chess is predictable
This like asking `Learning a new language make you starter` Of course Chess makes you smarter. This is obviously an proven. But main point is you cannot be genuis just playing chess/ Intellegence depends genetics. education. your social enviroment etc Also there types of Intellegences/ Social intellegence/Kineastetic intellegece/ musical intellegece/ As conclude chess is so useful for every view but playing too much it can be harmful
What does it mean to be a genius?
@@nellikondaakashgoud9468Someone who can understand things much faster than the average person.
Whatever the conclusion is, I love the first savage quote of Bobby Fischer
😂😂
It seems that chess attracts the intelligent people who naturally find interest in it(high in openness) which is correlated to high IQ. Visualization in chess is a game of intended probabilities that changes through the moves of your opponent that changes the whole game strategy which low to normal iq can't bother too much to it. It's safe to say that people with high IQ can facilitate that time without too much compensation. Autism or idiot savants compared to high IQ players tend to accommodate the game with nothing to spare outside that brain processing and other aspects of life. I'd say learn chess if you want to process faster and keep your brain healthy and functional. It's more beneficial if just a hobby than your entire life.
best chess players are 80 IQ though
99% tactics and 1% strategy rightly said by Grandmaster. That 1 percent strategy matters a lot right from the beginning word go. Opening line study gives fundamental understanding of proper opening where you can derive your strategy and that gives birth to the middle game position. Imbalance study in chess plays a vital role in chess... End game study demand your calculation strength. There is one more chess, combination chess. It is not everyone's cup of tea. Mikhail Tal was one of those. Please don't underestimated chess game. Yes, you can implement chess style in your practical life. Attack is a best way of defense. Thanks!
Yeah well. Chess makes you dumb. #9LX makes you smart.
I agree i think chess is a skill that everyone can master if they put in the time regardless of intelligence
I am not smart or anything i just love chess even tho i am so bad at it
Same bro.
You should play Minecraft
Which language is he speaking? 😕
Bri'ish
Did you stopped making videos
Perfect
Who else is here after Tesla bot
I'm here because of the game 😂
Tesla bot only heights 173cm and 57 Kg weights, it same like android their body was made from plastic, but Tesla bot is weaker and if they trying to against us, we can destroying them easier than androids.
As a candidate master, I feel dumb and depressed all the time.
Why?
When you try to do something require more intelligence you will feel like that , exactly like when you solve math problems, when the question is easy , you are happy but when you try to solve a hard problem you will like a dumb person, but when you fell like that you should know that you are improving
Maybe chess reduces our errors we make in other subjects just like chess
Maybe not. Chess makes you dumb. #9LX makes you smart.
It's better than playing fortnite 😂
You said “horse.” Goodbye.
Levy sometimes says horse so don't watch him either
