One of my great great grandfathers was a volunteer out of Jennings County and his regiment mustered out of Madison. Their regiment was ordered to the area of Munfordsville KY to keep the railroad bridge over the Green River open for Northern troops and supply trains to supply the skirmishes in Tennesee and farther South, He was killed in that battle of Green River Bridge November of 1862.

History will not tell but you can see it for yourself that the south was mostly democrat and the north mostly republican so the war was really a political war of democrats vs. republicans. The crazy thing is now the blacks vote democrat because democrats gave them free handouts and told them that republicans were racist ! There is no bar too low that the democrats won't crawl under it !
