The engine blew up , dump the van
Nice one, who cares if it doesnt look pretty, no one will see if from above anyway
What is the product detail of the sealant that you used?
Gentlemen, in future please use PPE in your videos. I nearly lost an eye drilling overhead, and since always wear safety goggles to avoid injuries. You're good blokes and we'd hate to see you get hurt.
Does the rubber trim not keep the window out? Or is the bead of sealer enough ?
I’ll give you 57p for Paul dvd. 😂
I bet in a future video you discover that the skylight leaks. 😂
Great informative video and you are really down to earth with your approach, I’m doing a relay next year so your videos are helpful. New subscriber here. 👍
does that skylight open up completely or just lift up a few inches
Hi unfortunately it doesn’t open up all the way it just lifts up a few inches, but dose still create a nice air flow with the windows open as well! Thanks for watching! 👍
Really enjoyed the video. Many usefull pointers.
Good info, thanks! Don't need background music.
Well done guys . Jobs a goodun..
😂😂
My uncle looks exactly like him!
Looks nice. Nice calming video and nice to see everyone enjoyed themselves!!❤️
Yeah to be far it was really peaceful on the water a nice way to spend the afternoon!
Looks bloody nice there mate
Yeah mate it’s really nice there especially on a nice warm day and it literally two minutes from our house so that’s nice!
All i can say is thank you guys for that video🔥🔥🔥
Well I hope that it was of help to you! Thanks for watching! 👍
Of you haven't already you should look at Greg Virgoes channel. Hes really experienced and he's started the same van as you right now. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice! And thanks for watching!
Sealing the frame to the panels with Sika ebt+ mastic will stop the shudders squeaks. Definitely made a difference. I am going to do this to my work van shortly
Thanks for the update mate can’t wait
Thanks for watching! 👍
What caused it to blow up?
Out of 9 video's with some YT channels having thousands of subs! Your is the most informative I've seen!!! Great tip on leaving a bit more top and bottom for offside window cheers. Wishing you all the best 👍
Thanks that’s nice to know that I could be of help! Thanks for watching! 👍
Any more van updates would really like to no how much insulation you need and carpet lengths
Hi yes there will be more van updates to come soon. We have had some mechanical issues with the van so we have been figuring out what our plan of action is! But hang on in there because there will be more to come! Thanks for watching! 👍
Nice place!!!
You might be the wrong way round on this, it's likely the frame got damp from a leak and that's causing the screws to become loose not the other way round. I'd pop it off and reseal it asap
nice work buddy 👍
Thank for watching mate! 👍
Better to find the leak now than later after the ceiling is up 👍 Good luck with the build 😁
Hi there thanks for watching! 👍 yeah you are so right that would be the worst to have to deal with it once everything is in! So yeah glad i found it now, and so far since iv tightened it up it seems to be job done so it was an easy fix in the end. so that was nice!
Our Ford Transit wasn't noisy so we saved money , weight and time by not fitting any sound deadening. Full van build and 20k miles later still no noise, simples .
Unfortunately our Citroën was loud so for us the sound deadening was needed, and I’m very happy with the results! But every build is individual I guess. it’s good that you managed to save the money by not having to do this step! 👍
Great job Lorenz 👍 pretty impressive results 👌
Thanks mate! Yeah it really dose make a big difference and the van is so much more pleasant to drive now!
ive just started to convert a 15 plate relay, not sure ive got the bottle to do the windows myself same with the skylight, im not very diy savvy, after watching your vod, im tempted to have a go
Hi thanks for watching! Yeah for sure give it a go, as iv said it’s our first time doing this kind of thing to! I think the most important thing is just to take your time and don’t rush! If it takes all day then so be it and so far that approach has worked for us. Good luck with the build guys!
Loving your videos I’m just starting a swb relay 👍
Thanks I appreciate your support for the channel! I hope that my videos can be of some help with your build, good luck!
Hi just started watching you can you list the stuff you use if poss and where to buy thanks
Keep it up mate can’t wait to see it finished be watching them all
Nice one👍 thanks for your support I really appreciated it. And welcome to the channel.
Slowly getting there ☺️ keep going! 👍🏻
I can’t wait for us to be able to get out in it and enjoy some adventures!!
Thanks mate! 👍 yeah I know thats why you’ll see we did end up putting a piece of plywood down to work on.
Spotted that later! I manged to get time last night to take the bulkhead out. That and adding a tracker is all I have done to it. It's full of my sons furniture for his imminent flat move and I can't really do much until then. Also have it booked into a local garage for a service and good check over so if there are any issues I can take it back under warranty to the SH dealer I bought it from. Don't really want to do anything big until I know its solid. The windows are sitting in boxes in the garage waiting!
Yeah that understandable, it makes sense to ensure you got a mechanically sound base before you start spending money on your living space! To be fair I probably going to give mine a good service in the next few weeks.
Great video (again) but at 1:02, watching you cut the cardboard on the van floor made me itch. Don't want to create more rust spots.
Good video, thanks. Love the evolution in technique between the first and second window. As well as priming prior to adding the edging strip, I see you left the masking tape on. Was this to catch any primer drips on paintwork?
Hi there thanks for watching! Yeah to be honest that is the exact reason I left the tape on because as I said in the video the primer can be tricky to get off should you have a drip or run!
@@loz6414 We picked up our Relay yesterday so re-watching your video again. My first job today was to remove the earth from the reversing alarm as it was too loud and said, "hey everybody, look at this idiot trying to reverse a large van for the first time"
Cool congratulations!!🎉 Yeah it is abit annoying for sure they should make the beeper to have the option to turn it off. Well I hope that my video is of some use to you on your van build journey!
Hi Loz, just jumping ahead a little i assume you will be going for a single swivel front seat having looked in to this a little it appears single seats are fetching a premium ( aka rip off ) on e.bay anywhere from £500 to £1000 for a decent one + £150 ish for the swivel base , i see guys are using Ford Galaxy swivel seats and retro fitting them as well as a couple of guys even chopping down the existing front bench seats neither looking that brilliant , a few are using used driver's seat and changing the seat belts over they seem to look good although the price of used drivers seats are not cheap anymore, as i will most likely have to buy the swivel base whatever route i choose which will then fit strait on to the existing seat base what's peoples thoughts on seeing what other vehicles seats will retro fit on to the swivel base may need to drill and tap fixing holes which may throw up issues re safety, insurance and MOT etc but just putting it out there for feedback 😁
Looking good guys 👍due to start a Relay build in a few weeks so looking forward to watching your progress, you mention at the end fitting sound deadening after watching a few videos on it i had the thought ( having been in the building trade all my life ) would Flashband do the same job at a third of the price so posted it on a couple of forums and it looks like its been used in a few build already so if you haven't bought your sound deadening already might be worth checking it out 😀
Hi glyn thanks for watching and thanks for your thoughts, as iv said this is my first time doing something like this so any advice is always helpful! I have in fact now purchased my sound deadening iv gone for some dodo sound mats with the self adhesive backing just thought they looked nice and simple and come with some good reviews!
Great job just about to start my windows, question what was the size of the edging strip did you use and how many meters. Be a great help .cheers
Hi thanks for watching really appreciate it! Here is a link to the part I used for my windows I got mine free with the window package I brought but it’s the same stuff. Hope this helps you, and good luck on your windows bud! www.vanpimps.co.uk/product/u-channel-for-interior-edge-per-window/
Well done lads
Thanks mate! 👍
A 10amp smart Solar mppt by victron will save you money in the long run
Any money savings in the long run or in the build are always welcome!
My advice for solar go as big as possible and double it 😊
Yeah your probably right. Thanks for the advice it’s something that I need to look into for sure. There are so many things to look into when doing a self build so any advice is helpful thanks!
@@loz6414 you will find huge savings on old solar panels. 250watt panels for only £75. Was a total game changer on my van
Nice video!👍
Thanks buddy!
Good video guys, keep the content coming. Looking forward to seeing the windows being fitted on the van because I’m fitting some windows on a van soon and I need to see how it’s done so I don’t make any mistakes on the van I’m doing!
What a wonderful day ☺️
Yeah it was such a nice day!!!
Thanks you mate. I hope once shes done we can go everywhere in it and have lots of adventures for you all to watch.
Hey Lorenz ! 👋 It's a really nice van, congrats on the new purchase mate 👍 hopefully it'll be "RELAYble😜" on the long journeys to discover new and nice places with your family, that's what I'd wish you mate 👍 keep up good work on it, lovely jobley so far 👌and I'm looking forward to another video of the further progress bud 😊
Looks Fun!
