Loved these times, I remember one Christmas in the 70s, I was playing behind my grandads armchair, with my new action man I'd had that Christmas, we was having tea at gran and grandads , when grandad shouted , " quiet now young uns, the Sound of music as just started,...I remember gran giving me jelly and ice cream to keep me quiet,...Great memories , I'm in my 50s now I still remember those magical Christmas's growing up with the dear family who have long lost passed, but remember them with warmth and love .....Great times

The very long serving tape Europa Time is playing here, already over 7 years into its run, and having been transferred over to BBC2 a couple of years prior, when 24-hr broadcasting came to BBC 1.

The closedown before that closedown had the Steam ident being used after the clock (and that was going into the early hours of 16th August 1997 with Lucy Bolger announcing).

Unlike the 1995 version (which had the Steam ident being used after the clock and had Reg Sanders as the CA), this version has Michaela Saunders as the CA and has Optic being used as the last ident after the clock.
