Can you explain how you have your students do the “write the words” section? Example in light unit 104, lesson 5, page 13. The picture is match. They need to write the word, but would I tell the letters and have my son do it as writing practice? Use it more as spelling practice? Or use it as spelling practice and then have them pick the letters from our concept of the day? The teachers manual didn’t really advise on how to cover this part of the light unit.

Thanks.. this is my first year homeschooling and it’s been very difficult until now because i have 1 year old that is vert clingy, only wants to be breastfed and only sleep 20 minutes and at night is a terrible sleeper.. i have 2 girls and this is my first boy. We didn’t experience any of this with the girls. Do you have any tips how to manage that? Sometimes we all have to sit on the floor and with some of his toys so that he can give me a chance with the girls… but most days it doesn’t work.. he loooveess music but sometimes when doing math, the girls want to concentrate ( one of them already has issues with concentration). Sometimes i wonder if the girls are learning something in this chaotic season🥴

This video showed up in my feed. I clicked it and kept watching and clicking subsequent videos. I also took notes. Today I implemented the methods you suggested, and this day has gone soo smoothly! I got all homeschooling done by 12noon today!! I have been struggling to get homeschooling done by early afternoon. 🙌🏽 I have time to take a breather before making lunch. The living area is clean, the dishes are washed, and I didn’t do it all by myself! And I’m not burned out or frustrated!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 THANK YOU!!

Whew, girl! You are really speaking to my heart in this video! I am mentally WORN OUT!!!! And you're right... there is no amount of sleep that makes me untired.... I get 10 hours of sleep; I've always required a lot of sleep. But I'm still exhausted. So, THANK YOU! I'm going to try some things you suggested! And I do think the trying to multitask is utterly exhausting to the mind.... I like the batch tasks idea!

Thank you for sharing this! So the current reading program(not CLE) we are using is not teaching well and we need to change completely. Also it’s workbook based with a lot of writing and that is slowing my child down. I feel we need something hands on and interactive with no writing involved. My son is eager and ready to learn just need a program that he is not slowed down by a lot of writing. Do you have any recommendations?

In the middle of a homeschool break with my 2nd grade adhd son (while also keeping a 1 and 3-year-old entertained)... saw the notification come through for this video. Perfect timing and perfect mental shift to push through for the rest of today's homeschool

We love CLE LA. I also love how it teaches real-world skills, such as letter writing, addressing an envelope, and the difference between an index, table of contents, and glossary. I love that my kids now know how to use an encyclopedia in the library or find a name in a directory. Other LA programs don't teach this. The curriculum, in general, is the only one I've found that allows me to work outside the home and homeschool without having to use online classes since it's designed for independence.
