Only reason I know how "Sturmpionere" is pronounced is because of Company of Heroes lol. That series of games is what really motivated me to get into Bolt Action, my buddy and I even came up with homebrew rules to make the tabletop more like the RTS games. I got the identical box like this for the Airborne a while back. It really is nuts how you basically get an entire playable army in one small box.

The Axis Support rule has really been nerfed, whether by design or just happenstance. A Romanian or Hungarian player must pay a tax of two local core units before purchasing the Axis support. Thus wouldn’t be bad if the choices weren’t so horrid, the Romanian army pdf only gives the Romanian player a choice between a single MG armed tankette or the open topped TACAM. Gone are the multiple historically correct AFVs they used. Plus the Romanians lost their mountain troops (with field craft), their pioneer squads, and their 251 half track transport options (again, all historical and in v 2) Sad neglect of many minor nations Good video none the less Thank!

I don't get your enthusiasm. I just bought the British/Canadian Starter box set. 36 figures plus, MMG, M/Mortar, 6pdr gun, Bren Carrier and Churchill Tank. Kind of puts the kit you just described in the shade. As for build options, it is a facet of Bolt Action kits that there is variability in all of their kit build options.

Bolt Action really is the way to go if you are on a strict hobby budget. For the price of 6 inner circle companions you can pick up a whole BA army.

As for calling for air support, after 1943 the Germans in Italy would say, if its silver its American, black its British (undersides of our night bombers etc were back) and if its not there its ours….

Know your enemy and their tricks: Sturmpioniere syllables: Sturm_pio_niere literally: storm pioneers More or less the same as in English, just the "uh" instead of "oh" in Sturm/storm and we emphasize the "ie" more than you the "ee". Feldgendarmerie / Feldjagerkorps syllables: Feld_gen_darm_erie / Feld_jä_ger_korps literally: field police, but with the french word / field hunter corps The German "Feld" sounds more or less exactly the same like the past tense of the English "feel", just the slightly more softer d than t sound at the end (as long as you emphasize it, but in normal speech you cannot hear the difference). Jäger or Jager is always pronounced strangely in English, but it's okay as it is. So you can do it like that too. And "korps" is just the same as "corps", just another letter for the same sound. And while I'm at it (it doesn't bother me much): "Yan" would actually be the correct pronunciation for "Jan" in englisch (same for Jens, Johann, Johannes). Another thing where letters are pronounced differently in English than in other Germanic languages ("ye" versus "dschj").

Wooow what a downgrade for france and the minor factions 😢 they loose their unique rules and changue them for worsened versions of it I think the artillery and air observer are the worst units in the game flavor whise: a unit that *roleplays* an attack on the battlefield and kills a lot of units. Its frustrating to remove so quickly those minis you spent so much time and effort to make just from a model that is not on the table (artillery pieces or planes)

BA plastic sets have about doubled in price the last few years and their sprue sales have tripled or quadrupled in price, half off they are still more expensive then the old full price. Afraid there is a push to out price GW with their mins.
