That's very cute! I would prefer a recording made by you rather than the digital sounds

it may be easier to be expressive in a live playing. When you record the voices one by one it is challenging to have finesse for minuscule details, you can't change the tempo, impossible to do Rubato. And, obviously, the arrangement is very difficult....

I am glad you liked it! Yes, I had some fun making the introduction. It is like a variation on the main melody (which is augmented). You can see that dilated original melody on the 1st horn and then horn 3 in measures 8-9. It's a fun exercise to take a give melody and put it into a different light.

that's true, would be wrong if it was in a symphonic piece. There are some composers I saw who also, sometimes, ignored the 1-3-5-7, 2-4-6-8 distribution. I only do it like this in ensemble music, SATB. Asked a few big horn players and they said, as long as horn 1 and 4 are clear, 2 and 3 doesn't really matter. But you are right, of course

You are 100% correct, that is the typical symphonic arrangement of the horns. I had discussions with some big horn players and they encouraged me to write the arrangements like an SATB choir score as long as I don't mix too much the horn range.

Thank you! You have a very funny name, I suck at music too, but important is to do it with passion and honesty. Allow me to share some things behind composing this piece. It was a little language/music experiment. I took a modern Romanian poem (that is the country of my origins) and recited it emphatically. I listened carefully to the rhythm and intonation of the verses and wrote it down like a music dictation. That became the melody played by the horn. The piano is trying to reflect the mood of the poem as I felt it.
