Shadow House has such an interesting premise. Plus, the way the foreshadowing is done is excellent, and the coloured artwork is beautiful <3

I only caught the occasional episode of the anime back in the early 2000's after school iirc, but never really got into it back then (or really gave it a try when I got into manga later on). The Sengoku Jidai was such a formative period for Japan, it's not surprising how many manga take inspiration and or reference to it. Combining it with their rich cultural beliefs/myths of Yokai and so on is very fitting. Another Shonen rich in Yokai lore is Nurarihyon no Mago, Shueishas Shonen Jumps feeble attempt to capture the void Shogakugans Shonen Sundays Inuyashas conclusion left in 2008 (at least, this would be a superficial assumption :D )

your opinion about Vinland Saga nailed it. Thors (the father of Thorfinn) is my favorite character. He had the greatest philosophy about life.

It's crazy how essential the artistic style of an author/artist can be for the "vibes" of a story. An example that comes to my mind immediatly is the manga to the lightnovel sidestory of One Piece for Ace that was drawn by Boichi (Sunken Rock, DrStone etc). It's objectively great art and fits the tone of that sidestory, but, for me at least, it doesn't really fit for the crazy world of One Piece, which gets so beautifully reflected in Odas art style (duh, I know)[the redrawing of the NamiVKalifa fight of Boichi has a similar problem, imo]. Saeki Shun, the artist of Shokegeki no Soma, on the other hand, captures the jovial nature of Odas approach really well in his small sidestory in the OP verse - Shokugeki no Sanji, imo. Another example, again with my personal taste, I love the artistic approach of Attack on Titans manga, but "colouration" through the anime took away an essential piece of why I read it in the first place, so I never watched more than the first episode. The new anime to the manga Uzumaki demonstrates that it is very possible to capture distinct art very well [not that I read or watch it, but it certainly is very distinct, now in both media, even if the anime, apparently, is really expensive to produce] Shadow House seems really eerie, and I am not sure that it is for me - the emotional design of the characters probably "supercharges" me because it is so beautiful ... and I am not sure if I want to handle that, at least currently

Love in Sight isn't shoujo tho😮 anyway do you interested in Josei or older shoujo works? Present shoujo compared to older ones is like day and night
