Do not buy Ford Tremor Valance! Modify your current air damn instead.
This is a simple and cheap way to change the look of your truck and gain some ground clearance as well!

How to hard wire f 250 Step Lights, Ford LED puddle lights.
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
This is an update to Colt's video from COLTS WAY on how to install these Amazon LED step lights on 2020 Lariat or higher F250 and F350. This method provides for a clean and secure install that will have your step lights activated whenever your doors are opened and whenever the unlock button is hit on the key fob. Check out Colts Way for the Original content and other good stuff. www.youtube.com...
Very nice! Thanks so much for this video. I was hoping to see someone do it succesfully. Looks great
I’ll be doing this in the am.
Great Idea !! I guess this is better than buying mods ( assuming you already have all the paraphernalia to work with).
👍
Looks great. Thanks for posting.
Looks perfect.
Tape line,Believe it or not,I used a Milwaukee Cordless,Cut off wheel. It works great, min rough edges,100 grit sanding. Boom!! Done.👍
Love the simple can do
Your Mom called… she wants her gig saw back!! Ryobi really.😜
Great job with video and the explanations. Thank you for posting this.
It's odd how many people go OCD on that air dam. I don't know how much it helps MPG. I have no desire to make my 8MPG worse when towing. I don't even notice mine. Maybe it's because I am tall and my field of view is not seeing it all the time. You did a nice job on your project.
Great job...ford wants 238 dollars for a valence and 190 dollars for a hour of labor...I'm doing mine like yours
very nice- what blade did you use-
U have the best video of this & the only guy who.didnt take it off. Gr8 job very informative. Doing mine today
This is a great method but I totally botched mine - did the thing where the jigsaw blade started to bend and track off unfortunately in the up direction and wasn't really salvagable. I ended up just taking it off (figured I'd have to take it off to put on a tremor valence anyway) and thought I'd try masking off and painting those lips and hardware a low gloss black and you don't even see them. Looks just fine with no valence after a bit of paint IMO. Wasn't that difficult to remove, either - there are a couple 8mms on each end that are hard to get to but if you take off the bumper brackets you have good access from underneath. Worst case if you don't like the paint you can still buy the tremor valence and put it on. Besides the looks and tire clearance it sure is nice to be able to get under the truck without putting it on ramps or jackstands.
Cool bro...watched several vids thus far, and you're the only one l've seen do it withOUT removing the valence first...l'll do mine this weekend. 💪👌💯
It looks SICK! gooood job!!!
Took a utility knife to my 150 nice and easy
Did your blade clear those brackets when you were cutting?
how much did it effect your mpg?
Yea I'm wondering the same thing. I can't imagine it is noticeable but even 0.02 mpg matters to Ford when it comes to the average fleet economy and a big piece of plastic is a pretty cheap way to get tiny gains.
I want a full size valance so it is so sad to see them chopped up
Agree with others. Looks great, and a helluva lot easier than removing and installing a new valance. 💪work
Saving me 100+, thanks!
What size of wire you used ?
Awesome, you did a great job of explaining everything.
If you get a 2017-2019 2wd valence it is about 3" and looks great on my 2019 F250 4x4
Now you just need some f150 brackets for the running boards to tuck them up
True. I did that and it looks so much better.
So your speculation the size of the air dam for different trucks is to cover up hardware and not for aerodynamics! That's pretty bad engineering! You should do a before and after MPG test to see if the shorter air dam makes any difference!
Pretty sure the reason the 4x4 is taller is for aerodynamics due to the drag on the front drive components. The hardware it is covering up would be the same RWD vs 4x4. It might make a 0.1 mpg difference in the end - difficult to measure and not enough to worry about.
Swapped a 2wd valance into my 2019 4x4 f250. I lost a mile per gallon. That's a 6.2 with 4:30 gears .
Tremors have a short one already...... it's not a big deal, really. Remain calm, it will be ok...
@user-qt5eh9wb7g So you know more than the Engineers at Ford! Amazing! Ford just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars fitting the taller front air dam on their trucks that they didn't need to! Why aren't you being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars per year by Ford ??!!! And you didn't even comphrened the original comment!!!
Hey nice thought out decision. Looks great Better than spending the $150 dollar for Tremer valance
Thanks! got something to do this weekend
I'm going to do that on my 23 F-250
NICE JOB! MITE WANT WARE SOME SAFETY GLASSES WHILE DOING IT
Lmao.....that's funny.
NICE JOB! MITE WANT WARE SOME SAFETY GLASSES WHILE DOING IT
Lol, seriously? Two safety glasses comments, one in all caps. He's cutting plastic with a jig saw.... The world has gone pansy....
Those two hangers in the front are for assembly, they lift and lock the frame above the assembly line conveyor jig. Also they are also used to mount a snow plow on front. Helps me so much down south in 98 degree Louisiana! 😂
If they are for assembly why does the 2wd not have them? 🤔 I firmly believe they are on the 4wd version for the most part, because of how high these things sit, so in a collision the truck will not want to "climb" over whatever it hits, say a smaller car.
Yea definitely not for snow plow mounts, that plow with destroy those little pieces of metal
@@deal492 Exactly. Not sure why this is even still a mystery. Also, the lack of knowledge as to what they are is likely why so many are taking them off. Would not like to be the driver who rear-ends a small car and crushes the occupants by ending up on top of them...when it's discovered the brackets were removed, I could imagine some big trouble! Just leave the things on the truck ---> they're there for a reason!
@@MrGeorgeScatos They're indeed to keep you from running up a small car in an accident. You will not get in trouble if you remove them. Tremors don't have them, they're not a legal requirement at all. They're actually not to stop you from crushing occupants of the other car, they're meant to keep the truck from jumping/flipping off a smaller vehicle. This stuff is quite easy to look up online.
@@MrGeorgeScatosit’s Trump world now, who cares about other drivers…
Looks great. Nice video. I’m going to do this Saturday on my F250.
You notice any difference in fuel economy after doing it?
Negligible difference.
Great video thanks!
I like it a lot. Great video. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks great. Good job. Thank you for sharing.
Great job! Looks good too.
Thanks for your video… I was very frustrated after ordering the F150LEDs running lights and was not able to get the wires they called out to work even after testing it. My lariat didn’t come with any of those plugs so I followed your recommendation and connected power from the tailgate camera light-Works like a champ! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video. I, too, looked for that connection underneath the truck and did not see it. I have a '22 F-350. So, your video is a life saver. Thank you.
Nice job brother, turned out great! Thanks for the shout out. But mines a 18 model dick! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
If you spend very much time watching Colts Way, you’ll go broke, that guy is crazy. He does some very cool mods.
😂😂😂sorry about your wallet brother! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I heard it hearts gas mileage
1. Not enough to matter. 2. It's a full size truck. Not worried about it. We'd buy a prius if we were worried about MPG's
Looks fantastic !!!
Great video please check out limitless Autoworks
What if we got a peasent XLT without tailgate light, 2020?
So the reason we made this video is because I stole the original idea from Colt's channel. Here is the link to his video that is way easier than what I had to do! ua-cam.com/video/3gBXDpfU51Q/v-deo.html
very easy problem, and you don't recommend to people a buy a tremor model, your donkey
Outstanding work Brother. I lost patience and went to a plug and play harness.
That work with a 150? Part #?
@@DVolvoguy777-x7o I got it from limitless auto works. So I’m not sure.
