      @ old style LBE from 1970’s era. I’m retired Army. Although I’m kind of leaning towards a chest rig of some kind. I kinda like the idea of my magazine pouches, not being in the way when I’m in a prone position and getting snagged on something getting in and out of a vehicle. Some of the newer stuff is good and I’m kind of old-school.

    • @BrotherInArms6
      @BrotherInArms6 2 дні тому

      @ those LBEs ain’t bad. Especially when that’s what you’re used to. I feel like some of the older surplus stuff is starting to become more popular. At the end of the day there are uses for a little bit of everything

    I think a red dot on a pistol is a waste of money. They might be good for long-range target practice or hunting, but in a self-defense situation, where you need to act quick to stop a threat that's only a few feet away, a red dot is completely unnecessary. I think a laser is a more practical targeting device (yeah, I know, lasers aren't "cool" anymore), especially if you don't have time to present your firearm and find the dot. With a laser, you could shoot from the hip, or an awkward position if you had to, where a red dot only helps if you have the gun out in front of you at eye level. I have a red dot on my rifle and shotgun, but I have a light/laser on my hand guns.

    • @BrotherInArms6
      @BrotherInArms6 13 днів тому

      That is completely understandable. I did include in the video that if you’re having to shoot at essentially less than 5 or 10 yards, sights as a whole are irrelevant

    • @BrotherInArms6
      @BrotherInArms6 13 днів тому

      And also, if you want to take my opinion, lasers are extremely cool and useful as you pointed out

    • @BrotherInArms6
      @BrotherInArms6 13 днів тому

      I get that. If you have been shooting for so long with iron sights, you get really good at them and then if you’re anything like me, I started questioning my abilities when I started shooting with a red dot 😂 at the end of the day, that just tells us we need to train more with it

    Great build brother. As a fellow left handed shooter I definitely appreciate what you're doing. If you do another build, consider a piston build with the Superlative Arms left handed piston kit. Get either a Geissele MK4, MK8, or Aero Atlas or Gen 2 handguard for clearance for the gas block.

    This doesn’t work at all. The better method is to make the triangle with your hands with arms extended, frame a distinct object on the wall, and close your left eye. If the object is still centered, you’re right eye dominant. If the object has moved, you’re left eye dominant. That simple.

    Rings:.....before I separate the caps from bases (from the packaging) I witness mark them with a paint pen. Fronts get this mark : (on the front left side) rear gets this :: (front left side, visualize a horizontal line between marks, line represents the split of base/cap). Keeps caps paired to bases and prevents flipping caps 180° on its base. Tip.... a piece of paper held behind & underneath the alignment rod's 60° bevel points really help seeing the tips. 😉

    Never ever ever ever use your ball hitch to pull anyone out Mr. That is dangerous and deadly. You said it in your video HAVING THE RIGHT TOOLS TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. Get yourself a shackle hitch receiver if you plan on towing or pulling anyone out of sand, mud, snow whatever it is. Always practice safety otherwise you could get sued if you hurt or kill someone using your ball hitch as a recovery tool. Those ball hitch aren’t meant for pulling anyone out. Remember that.
