Decade' was composed to mark the 10th anniversary of the Foden's Youth Band in 2022 and was premiered by the band, Foden's Band and Foden's Junior Band at Manchester's Stoller Hall.
The work is in 3 clear movements - yet is through-composed, each movement based around the figure 10. Right from the initial 10 bell strikes at the opening of the piece, the musical material is also derived from the number 10 with the main 'motif' in the piece spanning an interval of a 10th - and the piece lasts 10 minutes!

'Hallelujah, I Love her So' was originally a poplar hit by American singer and songwriter Ray Charles in 1975 on album of the ame name and was arranged for the Foden's Band at the 2023 Brass in Concert Championships, held at The Glasshouse, Gateshead.

Solid performance of an incredibly difficult and emotive piece well done Shat band 8:55 the euphonium solo and the cornet response is stunning playing. Couple of slips but this is an incredibly difficult piece of music. It definitely paints a picture. Also credit the bass section sounding like Wakefield cathedral organ wonderful stuff from the band

Why does this instrumental version change after every verse? The very best version of Ilkla Moor is one in which the band holds in its incontinence and plays the same tune at the same tempo, without deviation, through all nine verses of the song. The humour is derived from the lyrics, not mucking about with the tune.
You have hereby answered your own question. This is an instrumental version - henceforth, no lyrics. Therefore it is upto the music to protrst what otherwise the lyrics would. P.S Sorry to hear are having difficulties with incontinence, your local GP should be able to offer some pads.

Wikipedia is here to tell Jonathan Bates, yes, three ridings: "The word riding is descended from late Old English þriðing or *þriding (recorded only in Latin contexts or forms, e.g., trehing, treding, trithing, with Latin initial t here representing the Old English letter thorn). It came into Old English as a loanword from Old Norse þriðjungr, meaning a third part (especially of a county) - the original "ridings", in the English counties of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, were in each case a set of three."

Excellent performance - I enjoyed it on the day (I had it between you and Hebden Bridge as winners with Imps third) but the recording is even better than I remember! A crying shame that you just missed out on Cheltenham qualification but you can certainly be proud of how you played a difficult piece

Fabulous! Here in the US, we don't hear much tenor horn. This fellow is excellent. Not my favorite song (I was in High School when it came out and was ubiquitous on the radio, in elevators and dentist offices) but it's lovely to hear a horn so well played.
I started out playing Tenor horn as a kid for nearly 8 years. When the other Tenor players switched to French horn because Tenor sheets were hard to come by for many pieces, I was a stubborn kid and refused to swap instruments. I eventually taught myself to switch one note up (or was it down?) while playing French horn sheets flawlessly on the fly. When my schoolmates left the band I did too, and I still regret it to this day. There was something I was uniquely talented at but, puberty does its thing

Those comments where people talk about themselves are very annoying ... so, I grew up in South Yorkshire and I moved to the US 20 years ago, and I LOVE this music. Brass Band music has always been the music of movies and imagination for me ... did I mention myself? Thank you for uploading this video!!!
