    Sequence of the day is next level for guys to know. 7:21 1. Warmup (Corrective/Activations) 2. Throwing Warmup (Bands/Tube/choice) 3. Plyos 4. Long Toss 5. Mound Work 6. Arm Care 7. Lift

      @@PullinMyOwn agreed. This was the purpose of the video. I expanded on this in a series I titled “the ultimate pitchers program” where I went through each segment of the offseason and some thoughts during each cycle. Appreciate the input!

    Loving the routine and appreciate you sharing it. Can’t do much about who does what with this after watching it but one thing I envision is a lot of scrawny, underdeveloped pitchers going into this routine just because a professional does it. What players need to understand is this guys technique (exercise & throwing) is impeccable for one. He knows his body but most importantly, he’s built up a strength base. Going through these plyo/weighted balls and certain drills won’t really move the needle for you if you’re skinny/weak/underdeveloped.

    how long should you take off from throwing?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05 Місяць тому

      @@jordanharris-e8j it depends on a couple factors. How much you threw in the previous competitive season and how it compares to years past. How long you have to prepare for your next competitive season. What your goals are. How old you are. As well as what your injury history looks like.

    Tore my rotator cuff very young. Arm still pops and creaks to this day if i were to play catch etc. So go toss a baseball or football and in 5-10 minutes i have a pretty uncomfortable feeling...it doesn't get worse though if i keep playing (until you go fall asleep on it for the night after, big mistake, wake up pretty jammed) I was a small framed kid who threw a very hard sinking fastball and a lazy but hard hooking curve. By time i was 15 i never pitched again and by 16 it was hurting my arm to hit the cut off man when prior i was one hopping 3rd base from deep right field. Lack of technique and strategy screwed me up but so did just being a kid who loved sports, basketball my true love, soccer my highest skill, baseball my fathers past time of glory days. I climbed a small mountain behind my house, we drug bmx bikes up it and rode them down, we pounded concrete hard and scraped knees, hands, nose, we broke fingers and toes and arms. We busted our heads open and required stitches. We played roller hockey in a culdesac. We swam in the lake and the creek, pulled behind boats, rode thousand acre property on 4 wheelers and an old school mail jeep. Always on the go and doing shit if i wasn't infront of a video game. The only way a kid isn't getting hurt playing sports at a high level is if they go through the development without crap tons of other athletic and physical pursuits or hobbies occuring. In my 30s my body hurts a ton but guess what...my body hurt a ton at 15 and at 22 as well. Because we were sitting around playing video games after brutally sweating and playing outside or competing in sports. The body rarely had relief.

    Are the amount of plyo throws in the vid the actual amount u threw?

    • @BrettGraves05
      @BrettGraves05 11 місяців тому

      No, typically it ranged from 20-30 depending on the day. All the drills were pictured, but not the total amount of throws. The number of plyos should fit inside your recommended throw count for the entire day and should supplement the throws you make with a baseball.

    Do you always put the weights on top when lifting and then you start breathing after they are on top of you by inhaling when lowering and for the last rep you just put the dumbbells down breathing normally?
