MENTAL PERFORMANCE AND ITS EFFECT ON YOUR GAME
Tore my rotator cuff very young. Arm still pops and creaks to this day if i were to play catch etc. So go toss a baseball or football and in 5-10 minutes i have a pretty uncomfortable feeling...it doesn't get worse though if i keep playing (until you go fall asleep on it for the night after, big mistake, wake up pretty jammed) I was a small framed kid who threw a very hard sinking fastball and a lazy but hard hooking curve. By time i was 15 i never pitched again and by 16 it was hurting my arm to hit the cut off man when prior i was one hopping 3rd base from deep right field. Lack of technique and strategy screwed me up but so did just being a kid who loved sports, basketball my true love, soccer my highest skill, baseball my fathers past time of glory days. I climbed a small mountain behind my house, we drug bmx bikes up it and rode them down, we pounded concrete hard and scraped knees, hands, nose, we broke fingers and toes and arms. We busted our heads open and required stitches. We played roller hockey in a culdesac. We swam in the lake and the creek, pulled behind boats, rode thousand acre property on 4 wheelers and an old school mail jeep. Always on the go and doing shit if i wasn't infront of a video game. The only way a kid isn't getting hurt playing sports at a high level is if they go through the development without crap tons of other athletic and physical pursuits or hobbies occuring. In my 30s my body hurts a ton but guess what...my body hurt a ton at 15 and at 22 as well. Because we were sitting around playing video games after brutally sweating and playing outside or competing in sports. The body rarely had relief.
what are you training for
Tip: Resist dropping the weight on deadlifts. Controlling it gives you just a little more strength output.
準備がすげー!
So true great thing to be teaching catchers!
For a second there I didn't think you were exhaling during the deadlifts. I was scared you were gonna get a hernia
Thank you ❤
Sir iam throwing 103 mph but iam in India iam a cricketer ,but i want to be best pitcher iam having natural arm speed in my small age it self ,i Dont know how to Aproch go outside do u help me ?😔
Are the amount of plyo throws in the vid the actual amount u threw?
No, typically it ranged from 20-30 depending on the day. All the drills were pictured, but not the total amount of throws. The number of plyos should fit inside your recommended throw count for the entire day and should supplement the throws you make with a baseball.
Boy
Do you always put the weights on top when lifting and then you start breathing after they are on top of you by inhaling when lowering and for the last rep you just put the dumbbells down breathing normally?
You inhale on the eccentric and exhale on the concentric...
So when I saw you lifting, did you start with the dumbbells at the top and then you inhaled when lowering and exhaled when lifting? And finally you put them down?
How are you breathing? Inhaling or exhaling during the effort?
Hope i can train with you sir 🙏

Want to see you pitch. Who carrs about your workout
Yankees!!
Have you ever dealt with arm pain/injury? If you have how did you deal with it?
Definitely. It’s a touchy situation… if it feels too much you should always error on the side of caution and get it checked out. There’s areas you don’t want to mess with. (around the shoulder joint and elbow)
If you believe in the gospel, you will be saved The gospel is that Christ died for our sins and roses on the third day the Bible puts it in this way, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Amen. Romans 10:9
Did you just throw 98 mph

With a 3oz training ball! Sorry not enough characters for a disclaimer. IG caption got the disclaimer
Everyone needs to hear this. I’ve been taught this exact subject multiple times. My mother is very good at making sure I’m safe on the internet. 🩷🩷🩷🩷

Get a job
I love the dedication. Nothing is wasted. Everything is efficient and precise. Very impressive.

I have a question, why do you do TRX row instead of barbell or dumbbell row after the cable row?
No particular reason. You could interchange those exercises based off of personal preference.

How much weight is on the hex bar lift? My 14-year-old is already doing 330 3x5. His goal is to reach 400 this winter and 500 by senior year.
This was 405. If his goal is baseball performance then he may want to look into transitioning into more power based training at his age/weight class.
@@BrettGraves05 ok. Thanks.
YOU SAID 14?!
Great video Brett. I had a question. What is the device you have on your forearm to track your number of pitches? Also the app you use. Thanks
Thank you. It’s called Pulse. It’s a workload monitor and the app I believe is called “Pulse Throw” on the App Store. Our coaches use it to build throwing programs at Premier Pitching and Performance. You can look at the training services available at Premierpitching.com
Thank you so much.@@BrettGraves05
