Thanks for post this production number. The quality is good compared to most of the ZOOM videos from that season presently on UA-cam. Have you got any more?
@@latom123 Thanks for the quick response! No worries. They did several other pop song and original numbers that year and I'm trying to find the best copies available.
I recognize Tishy & David from the beginning., as well as Harvey, who's on the highest platform at one point. For some reason i remember this cast having 10 members as opposed to the usual 7, but I just see a total of 8 here.
1:04 - I want to think the sounds of the synth solo are coming from an ARP Pro-Soloist (notably the use of, at 1:09, the "Trumpet" preset with an added "wow" effect; a la Billy Preston's "Space Race"). ARP Instruments was based in Newton, MA, just 10 miles away from the WGBH studio in Boston where _ZOOM_ was produced.
They ought to be singing "Rock and Roll Music" (Chuck Berry/ Beach Boys/ Beatles). It's got a back beat you can't lose it In the middle of Massachusetts. It's gotta be rock and roll music If you wanna dance with me.
At one point there was a DVD of old Zoom episodes available on Netflix. But just before it came to the head of my queue, Netflix pulled the DVD and I haven't heard about it since.
I really liked this season. At first I was SHOCKED.;TEN kids, not seven?! & no carryover from before?! But I soon grew to like this cast as well as any;great seeing 'em again! Thanx!☺
Does anyone remember the Palmolive commercial, "Boy, do I dig rock!" "The way your hands look, it looks like you've been digging rocks."
My childhood memories
Zoom was a show that far back? No joke I thought it was new when I watched it as a kid in the 90s
Nope. Started in 1972 and watched it all the way through till the end.

Sorry but this is all I found.

Check out another of the videos under my account. It shows the closing and lists the kids.
@@latom123 ok, thanks!
Norman and Red are not in this number.

They left Donovan out of the song???lol
"I dig Donovan in a dream-like, tripped-out way / His crystal images tell you 'bout a brighter day..." - must've been too trippy for children's TV?
@@ClassicTVMan1981X yup lol
this is sooooooo cool.
I would love to be a 70s kid
Trust me, being a 70's kid rocked!
@@DaveLH Yes 70's was the best
Take it they never made it as singers
Happy 54th birthday, Tishy!
Did anyone ever hear from Tishy as an adult? I would love to know whatever became of her.
@@pcolt4 I still want to know also!
@@pcolt4 Ya me too. One of my 3 favorites. I loved Donna and Lori also.
@@ClassicTVMan1981X me too! she’s one of my favorites, and has always been.
Tishy has the rhythm of a tree stump.
This cast recorded an excellent album. You don't know jack shit about music, asshole.

Happy 56th birthday Carmen!
Does anyone know what happend to Carmen as an Adult? She was my favorite zoomer!
Edd Kalehoff was probably behind those synths!
lol 😂😂😂😂
Also, you had a VCR back in 76'? Wow-you were really up on technology!
Geek thru and thru.
I may have recorded it as a rerun. Don't think I got my first machine until about 1978
My family got a VCR in 1978. These episodes of ZOOM were still in reruns at the time, but I never thought about taping them.
Tom, why havent these episodes been released on DVD? Is there some legality issues with WGBH?
I just found these few clips on an old vhs tape I had. No idea why WGBH doesn't release more.
It may also have to do with clearing the rights to the songs from their respective publishing houses.
At one point there was a DVD of old Zoom episodes available on Netflix. But just before it came to the head of my queue, Netflix pulled the DVD and I haven't heard about it since.
Is tishy a boy or girl??
A girl.
If Tishy finds out what you say, she might flag your comments the way you worded them. Please watch what you write.
These are making me so happy!!!
Gale Perkins same
This was my favorite ZOOM cast. All the kids were cool. It's cool to see that Andrae commented. I wonder what the now-grown kids are doing these days.
I'd love to know what Tishy, Cate, Nell, Amy, Carolyn and Susan all look like now!
