I used to love this game when it came out. I even beat it a few times. I tried to replay it recently and I have no idea what i was thinking lol it was a chore just to finish the first mission.

Bro I enjoyed this game for hours and hours when I was 10 and got it for christmas, I found the time traveling back to the future style plot pretty awesome, this is the first time I even see it mentioned in a UA-cam video, let alone reviewed, pretty cool.

I wish this, thief: deadly shadows and arx fatalis hit backwards compatibility. Especially Deus Ex, since its PC port is infamously weird. Oh, and also gimme the upgraded journal in Morrowind for Xbox. A man can dream...

I played both games on PC and since I cant play them today, the PS2 is the only way to play at least the second. I was afraid it was crappy on console and now you proved it... It sucks so hard it is not re-released for newer hardware!!

One of my closest friends in High School was an Apple fanboy, and by association a huge Bungie fan since they were one of the very few devs that made games for Mac. He used to play Marathon for hours on his family G3. God, he was so pissed when Microshaft (as he lovingly referred to them) bought Bungie. Halo was supposed to come to the Mac, but then became an Xbox exclusive. Anyways, I vaguely recall this game, having played it on PC over 20 years ago.

I love the sharp-angles anime of the eighties and the nineties. They don't make them like that anymore.

I have a genuine love-hate relationship with this game. Back when I was at Uni I wrote a review of it for our campus TV station where I ripped it apart. Then I played it on stream and found it _mediocre_ at best. Yet, the fiction, the lore behind I find fascinating. I really still don't know how I feel about it.

Aside from the cover art being a lie (no dual wielding OR shotguns?), I had a lot of fun with this game. Especially when in future playthroughs I had fun with the cheats. Particularly being able to play as any character model in any given level, full moveset and abilities, or lack thereof. Playing as broken Shinatama shakily holding a pistol is a cursed option near endgame, I found. I also discovered a neat bug where if you jump off the top of the parking garage during the second boss fight with the big guy, if you fall off while invincible, you can re-enter the level and all the enemies respawn as if nothing happened. But when you make it to the top, the game just loads into the next level as if you had won the fight properly. It's something probably 12 other people aside from myself have experienced, but it's little things like that, that kept these games fresh for so long. Jank aside and some areas being near pitch black to the point of being harder to navigate than necessary, the combat really made you feel badass when you conquered the awkwardness of the controls and could exploit some enemy AI to juke them into your desired attack patterns.

Doom3 is still alive ❤

It's nice to see a review that doesn't shit on everything Doom 3 brought. Personally, I am glad that 2016 took heavy influences of 3 to keep the game feeling diagetic for the upgrades and environment. It does get pretty obvious when some locations feel like arenas but at least looks like a somewhat plausible living and working space. Then, for Eternal to throw it away. The Doom 3 and Classic Marine are my favorite skins for the Doom Slayer champion in Quake Champions.

2:14. That Quake 3 chat reference is perfect. Even more fitting since the Plasma Gun ammo pickup sound is from Quake 3 and the health pickup is as well. The hobbling while crouching is also in Quake 3.

Ahhhh the era when PC ports to consoles were always inferior in every way. I loved this game and the sequel, but I never dared play it on PS2 and this video reinforces that that was the correct decision.

One thing I prefer about the 64 version over the PC version is it follows the example of the PC expansions and starts the player right next to a Shotgun. The first time I played the PC version I was expecting to start with a Shotgun like in Quake I and was very disappointed by starting with just a Blaster. Worse on my first PC run I managed to miss the Shotgun in the first area so I was left with nothing but a Blaster until I found the Machine Gun in the Installation. It wasn't fun and I didn't find my first Shotgun until the Comm Center. A friend of mine showed me where the Shotgun in the Outer Base was the next weekend and I made sure to memorize its location so that experience never happened again.

I would be ok if the Evercade releases game to PS5, Switch or both but I would love these games and the N64 Time Travel game to be remastered. I beat all three back in the day though this was the only one I actually owned (I had one set of cousins who owned Time to Kill and another that owned Zero hour and I beat them during sleepovers or when visiting for family get togethers) and I would love to have all three to play again.

I call these The Duke Nukem Time Travel Trilogy, as there were 3 games that mostly the theme was time travel. And it would been nice if all 3 games got a remaster/enhance with a choice to play it in classic or enhance graphics, and classic or modern controls and tweaked enhance gameplay.

Duke Nukem Zero Hour on N64 is MUCH better than Time to Kill.

My favorite Duke Nukem game. Platforming was hard but it made exploring so much fun. Also the movement was kinda advanced, i used the side and back roll a lot

1:02 wow, I literally made a similar control layout like that in doom eternal! Im do not know what inspires developers designed that control layout, but for me i was using Keyboard & Mouse as a reference make Gamepad controls as smooth and natural as Keyboard and Mouse as possible, Im glad to see it happened way before I did xd and mm... i never saw chain gun in og quake 3 before.. at least the source port version of the game im playing on, is that exclusive to the ps2 version? this port of the game sure have some interesting stuff, and i never seen that Vadriger boss in the quake 3 too..? cool! xd here is my doom eternal's control layout, just want to share it xd L2 = Switch weapon / weapon wheel (hold) L1 = Jump R1 = Fire Weapon R2 = Weapon Mod Triangle = Flame Belch Square = Chainsaw Circle / O = Equipment Launcher Cross / X = Switch Equipment Dpad Upward = Switch Weapon Mod Dpad Downward = Crucible / Sentinel Hammer L stick = Movement L3 = Dash R stick = Look R3 = Melee / Glory Kill
