Why Is the Animus So Difficult To Find?

Why Is the Animus So Difficult To Find?
Imo this was developed to explain women who were less feminine than society thought they ought to be, and to try to figure out what was wrong with them. What it really is, is our inner connection to our soulmate… our opposite sex counterpart. So long as we deny the inner connection we project it on to the people around us, our men, if you are a women in spirit. Our rejected inner masculine can be part of our shadow… we are the person we need to complete us
I have to disagree. The Anima and Animus were discovered to explain the innate feminine and masculine aspects within the psychology of men and women, regardless of their psychological situation. Whether a woman is more feminine or masculine she possesses masculine attributes to her psychology. Whether something is wrong with a woman or not is dependent on her own psychological situation, which may be attributed to the Animus or not at all. A well integrated Animus actually enhances and supports a woman's femininity, and does the opposite when not integrated, or he she is "possessed." This possessed state can be no fault of her own, and shows the autonomous nature of the Animus, and equally the same for men. I do agree with you in regards to it being about our soul. As well as whatever is unconscious we project. And the shadow is almost always the same gender as the dreamer. Which by the way, you have a way of identifying your Animus and shadow through dreams. If a man appears, that is usually your Animus, a woman, usually your shadow.
There were no breaks in speaking between chapters and few concrete examples of the concepts, i found this hard to follow
@@HouseOfAliShali thank you for your feedback. I will try to improve the next time.

How about yellow?
@@vivianarias dreams are personal so it really depends on what "yellow" means to you. That is called personal associations. You can write the word Yellow and next to it, write everything that comes to mind. In terms of the collective, or archetypal meaning, yellow, could also be seen as gold. Gold representing the highest value. Since gold does not oxidize it is known to be everlasting. Citrinitas is an alchemical term that means "yellowness" and is one of the four main stages of the alchemical magnum opus. It is also sometimes called xanthosis. In alchemical philosophy, citrinitas represents the emergence of the "solar light" within a person, and the idea that the "lunar or soul light" is no longer necessary. The other three stages of alchemy are: Nigredo: Blackness, which represents the decomposition of matter Albedo: Whiteness Rubedo: Redness
@@DreamAnalytica thank you so much for the detailed and quick response :) This is very interesting. Yellow showed up prominently in a dream and the association with gold makes a lot of sense considering the crystal work i'd done earlier that day. The yellow was paired with black, so Im contemplating and allowing it to continue to reveal its meaning. The following night yellow was the color again, this time, just yellow... Thank you for the videos 💛
@@vivianarias You're very welcome, thank you for the question. You're very welcome! Yes absolutely, you can download my app if you have an iphone hehe. Jk Carl Jung - Man and his Symbols Carl Jung - Psychology and Alchemy (the collected works of C.G. Jung Volume 12) This is a good place to start. The reason he does not provide extensive material on dreams is to prevent giving a statistical approach to analysis. But these books are a good place to start at understanding dream symbolism and how they communicate with our Ego consciousness.

Fascinating. I too had a dream last night which finally illuminated something for me. Interestingly, it was the complete opposite of your dream. In my dream, I was being called by my Animus to continue living in the chaos to which I've become accustomed. Chaos in its unpredictable, volatile, confusing and frightening nature, which are all words I would use to describe my life up to now. However, in waking life, I grapple with the question of, "Why do I struggle so much with consistency, discipline, order and sense of stability and peace?" I was able to determine at long last that my unconscious desire for chaos is not a lack of discipline, but a warped sense of control that I'd developed as a defence mechanism against the outside world always trying to force their opinions about how I ought to live upon me. But I know that I no longer need to rely on that defence mechanism. It's currently holding me back. Order and predictability will allow me to create a solid foundation upon which I can build a real future for myself, and not one that is rooted in fantasy and illusion. With regards to your dream, I wanted to offer another potential meaning to the symbolism behind the wind. From an esoteric perspective, air rules over clarity, communication and intellect. It is an element that is associated with the upper chakras, the third eye and determination. In tarot, air is represented as a sword. It is both protective and decisive, direct, swift and accurate. It is cold, but sturdy and incredibly powerful when wielded with control and precision. Anyway, this was a wonderful video! I hope you're keeping well 🤍
Oh! I nearly forgot to mention... I was also able to determine that the Animus was presenting as the Trickster archetype "... which often challenge[s] the status quo and cause[s] unexpected events in stories." So, in essence, I was playing tricks on myself in waking life by walking this chaotic path and telling myself that I was simply "going with the flow" or, aka, "doing whatever I want because it's my life and no one can tell me otherwise" (obviously at the detriment of my health and stability). The opposite of this Trickster archetype could be interpreted through the Hierophant, who is "... said to be a wise teacher, a channel appointed by God to deliver messages to [the] masses, [and] a guru-type figure." So, I reckon your comments about wisdom are pretty spot on ;P I've never been attracted to this sort of wise masculine figure. He's always seemed rigid, boring and self-righteous to me. Instead, I tend to look for "Loki-type" figures in men who are the pinnacle representation of chaos. I have no idea how successful I will be at integrating this boring Hierophant archetype in my life, but at least I understand where he's coming from now.
I love that interpretation of the wind symbolism. So how would it fit into the overall context of the dream as you see it, since I cannot see my own backside, having another perspective is most helpful. What is even more interesting is that the tarot interpretation of the wind is the same in Jungian psychology. Omg, I just check my app in symbols and completely forgot I had it on there hahah! From the app: A symbol representing the realm of the intellect, mental processes, and the abstract aspects of the dreamer's psyche. Air is associated with thought, communication, and mental clarity. In dreams, it can signify the need for merntal clarity, fresh perspectives, or the importance of clear communication. The state of the air in the dream, whether it's clear, turbulent, or stagnant, can provide additional insights into the dreamer's cognitive and intellectual state. Air also symbolizes the potential for new ideas, intellectual growth, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in the dreamer's life.
This is so we'll thought out. One can tell this is not Animus intellect, which is usually a false intellectual, but your actual intellect. This is very very good progress! I mean, do you know how hard it is to get to that level of self understanding? Keep up to good work, don't ever give up, and keep learning. It is only by doing the slow work that you incorporate the hierophant into your life.
@@DreamAnalytica Yes, I suppose you're right ^^ I've already begun to look at him from a different perspective. And thank you for your kind and encouraging words. It took a lot of deconstruction to come to the conclusions that I reached, but when I was finally able to unwrap everything it was super exciting.. I felt I had to share my findings with you! Hope that's okay~
@@DreamAnalytica Hah! Well, there you go. I think you were able to pretty accurately determine that there was "no going back". The wind as you described it makes me think of the sentiment that "Once something has been seen, it can't be unseen," or unknown, unheard, unexperienced, etc. Air is also considered to be a masculine energy, so it's notable that you wanted to return to the warm embrace of the nurturing mother, but were more or less denied re-entry by the steely father.
I downloaded the app, it's nice, tbh I expected some more info but it's good maybe still a bit in beta...ish? @@DreamAnalytica I can add that I'm using an iPhone 12 mini if it can help. I was looking mostly for a symbol database, I have a book like that but I haven't found an app like that just yet, do you have any suggestions regarding a book/database that is like a symbols dictionary/compendium?
@@silvertongue1636 That's very helpful, thank you! I am actually programming right now and will update it soon. I unfortunately do not know of a book on symbolism based on Jungian psychology, I think perhaps that is due to the nature of dreams being nuanced, and the symbols do not necessarily hold a universal meaning but rather depend on the unique associations of the individual. However I created the app and compiled symbols here such that it was based on psychology because I could not find one anywhere else. I will continue to add symbols based on my research since there is not one source, but hundreds of sources referenced in order to compile it into the app. Do you have specific symbols you would like me to research and add, I will add them just for you as a thank you for supporting me and purchasing my app!
Hi! Thank you so much for your content. I wanted to take you up on your offer of discussing a dream here. Well, actually two that happened pretty close to one another, a few months ago: In both dreams, there was this sense that I was being challenged. First, I was at a restaurant with my partner and then realized the waitress wouldn’t come back, so I left the restaurant to try to find her and ended up finding her in this warehouse where she was smoking a cigarette, acting blasé and being like “what do you want?” But she also knew I was coming somehow. Then on my way back to the restaurant I got interrupted by a gang fight and woke up. The second dream was more like one scene, but I was sitting in a booth at a diner with a bunch of men and one of them just kept starting at me with these big black eyes. He started shaking something like salt on the food while staring at me, almost in a challenging way. I woke up. I would be grateful to hear any ideas/thoughts! thank you!
@@slagoona1790 I will say this much based on very limited info, but the dream may be indicating to me about people pleasing tendencies. Waiting on people. In relation to the Animus in the first dream, there is a chaos in you described by the bar fight, probably from repressing your true self for the sake of the group. In the second dream, you're self critical, and judge yourself quite harshly. But that judgement actually does not come from your feminine feelings, they come from the Animus, that man putting salt in a menacing way staring at you. These judgements all come internally, which you may project outwardly. Whatever is unconscious we project. The cure? You simply don't have to listen to those judgements about yourself because they are false. You can stand up to that man staring you down and assert yourself in your feminine power simply by imagining that scene again. Feel free to reach out to me if you feel you need more answers
@@DreamAnalytica I really appreciate this, thank you! It resonates :)
@@slagoona1790 you're very welcome. I do apologize if it's vague, I do need more info for a more detailed analysis. I do have one question for you, you have dreams of being in a restaurant/diner, what are you personal associations to those places? How do they make you feel?
@@DreamAnalytica any analysis is great! I’m in a training program for psychology with a psychoanalytic tradition, and also shared these dreams a few months ago with a Jungian analyst. She suggested that I was being challenged to better integrate the Animus or masculine, such like you say here. I appreciate the texture you add though, which is about waiting. That certainly resonates. I’m seeing these dreams now in the context of a relationship that has since ended. To answer your question - I often have dreams in public places like this, where there is a crowd of people. Sometimes it’s a house party, shopping center, or some other busy place too. I often associate this with growing up in a big city and just liking being in these places, but maybe it could mean more?
@slagoona1790 I'm really glad to hear it in regards to you learning psychology! And yes, the environment sets the scene in dreams, a psychological state. Are you introverted? In any case, the unconscious picks these environments for a very particular reason and is usually the first thing we analyze in dreams. Contextually, your associations to these places matter a great deal. So for example Associations restaurant: eating alone, feeling judged, relaxed, gathering with people, not being alone, date night, relationships, desires, desert, sweet, love, family, anxiety, collective, public, privacy invasion, crowded, stressful. This is an example of how you would personally associate a restaurant, and depending on the context of the dream, one of those associations might "click" the most.

Very informative. Thank you! 🙏🏼
Counterpart implies separate archetypes
It is not a counterpart like anima and anima are two separate archetypes they are the same they just express themselves directly via men and women
Just as man is counterpart to woman, eros (anima) is counter part to logos (animus).

How much for a dream analysis?
Hi! Please email me at dreamanalytica08@gmail.com, and we can discuss your dream and any questions about pricing there. Looking forward to hearing from you!
any tips on remembering dreams?
To remember your dreams, start by setting the intention to recall them before falling asleep; affirm to yourself that you will remember your dreams upon waking. Keep a notebook or a digital recorder by your bedside, and immediately write down or record any details you remember as soon as you wake up, even if they seem fragmented or unclear. Avoid moving too much or getting out of bed right away, as this can disrupt the memory of your dreams. With consistent practice, patience, and a calm, focused mindset, your ability to recall dreams will improve and eventually become a natural habit.
Man I need an apocaliptic dream
I cannot guarantee that you will have one, but through consistent dream analysis, the maturation process of our psychology is sped up, increasing the likelihood of such dreams. Granted that the analysis of dreams is done correctly. From experience, my clients, as well as myself, have had such dreams. It also depends on your age, or circumstance such as going through a major life transition.
I so enjoy your approach to dreams, and your enthusiasm for their importance. They are so important!! This is great stuff you’re doing here, and it’s much appreciated. I really hope this takes off in whatever way you want it to-thank you, and keep up the good work.

This is 100% true. I have been in a loving relationship and all the time I would get angry(almost in a masculine way) say the most stupid things and "testing" my partner all the time and then he wouldn't say or do the right thing according to what I wanted(or the animus wanted) and it was just a mess. Eventually my animus drove me to just leave the relationship for no good reason. I thought maybe I'm afraid of true love, but it's this dynamic. It truly feels like you get possessed by a man spirit, you don't even talk or act like yourself. After a year and a few months my partner and I started talking again. I truly needed time away to live out the animus in a possitive way. Making decisions for myself, going to work, taking action etc. I feel so much calmer now, but we'll see. I had a serious mistrust in all men and realized it's not fair to do that. Most people are good! And it's about trusting yourself.
That is absolutely amazing! The amount of self awareness and intelligence it takes to recognize and identify these aspects within yourself is admirable. I can only say that I'm proud of you; the work you just did is extremely difficult. I think it is also great that you shared your personal experience so others know they are not alone, I think that is very courageous! I hope more people, particularly women will see this comment, I really think it is a very positive message.

men have an animus too its called the double
Are you referring to our Anima having an Animus? Now we're getting really deep into psychology.
@@DreamAnalytica no and in fact we have two animas, The first anima is the gateway to the unconscious, she is our shadow, but there is also a light shadow (social persona a midheaven) who is our 2nd anima our animus (as males) is that of our Deamon / demon this is our double, not our dual but our double our super ego battle That big fight in movies or book when the antagonist takes of the mask and its us but not us and it knows us better or at least it thinks it does based on the patterns we fed it when we can transcend this state (which is far greater than our shadow) because our shadow is based on our personal unconscious whereas the Deamon archetype has more connection to the collective consciousness even the creative consciousness ,its partly why homosexual relations (that does not mean sex) are healing especially due to vasopressin hormone come on we can't think as males its all our mother fault hence the anima being partly shaped by her forever mommy issues or same for women and their animus , nor are we just male and female we are a little of both clearly , so no not the animus or of anima but of our own self partly due to the shadow kingdom of our fathers
@@Heyokasireniei468sxso The double Animus, as I know it, for women, refers to a personal Animus and a collective Animus. For Men our Anima takes on a personality of her own so to speak and therefore has her own Animus, but that is a depth I've barely explored because it's too deep for me at this point in life. But for example, let's say I have a dream about my sister who has a specific personality type, that would be the personality type of my Anima and from there I can continue to analyze what part of my psychology behaves in that way, and to an even greater depth, figure out what my "sister" in the dream's Animus would be. But that is a depth very few have been able to analyze within themselves. It's interesting to type the characters that appear in dreams as they appear relative to your own typology and can actually help you understand yourself. But it's rather advanced stuff. Thanks for sharing your insight!
@@DreamAnalytica if you dig deeper past the neo Christian heteronormativity propaganda to make it safe and you will see
This was really well done. Thank you. 🙏
Doing a little mythological research and finding a goddess that matches your self is a good way to meet and work with your Anima.

Interesting
So by me eaten the two legs of the male lion i was trying to destroy my masculine, im male aswell, so my feminine lion saved my masculine, which only must be half now since i ate two legs?
Yes, you could say that. But lets go into further detail. The lion is the king of the jungle and therefore you could say that you have a symbol of totality of the King and Queen, which means that those aspects exist in your psychology. The ego (you) eating, can represent an act of digesting. The legs, another important symbol, represent movement, mobility, and connection to the ground (a metaphor for reality). So some aspect of you is digesting the instinctual mobility of your masculinity and is trying to be saved by you instinctual femininity. I would need to know you better to offer a better interpretation, but this is just based off the meaning of the symbols. Your own personal feelings and associations matter. Are you repressing any part of yourself in waking hours or feeling overwhelmed? and if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? (this can impact the meaning of the dream, depending on what stage you are in life)
@@DreamAnalytica overwhelmed I can imagine. What kind of things do people repress, I've never really repressed any thoughts of ideas. I'm 39 years old.
@karl2851 ah okay, it's starting to make more sense that you feel overwhelmed. The dream was telling me either one or the other, but since your 39, overwhelmed makes more sense. Lions can also represent desirousness, and the overwhelm feeling that I felt in your dream came from the inability to digest. The female lion's intervention indicates the unconscious mind's protective mechanism, urging a more balanced and holistic integration of these dual aspects of your psyche. Normally I would work with a client on a personal level on these things because it rather difficult to analyze without knowing you and your associations, but I think, generally speaking, you are reaching midlife. What that means for you, I cannot say, but I know something needs to be settled psychologically as per the dream. Again, if you would like to work with me, you can reach out to me through email on my channel page. Lastly, what is your personality type if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you.
Excellent info, but your voice has to be compressed and equalized in editing (make it more present), and/or the music in too loud. Read calmer (if is not AI)
@@chiefindisguise duly noted, I appreciate the feedback! And no, it's not AI (I like the human element and imperfections that come with it), I had to drink lots of water and sort of lost my voice at the end. In my newer videos I add captions, but will apply your feedback where I can. Thank you🙏
Oh my goodness I’m so glad the algorithm delivered your wisdom to me 😍 even though you stumbled with the mention of Jesus at the end but hey, no one perfect 🙂
You have a new subscriber! It was super informative. Thank you.😊
Fantastic work man, keep it up! P.S. The audio is a bit muffled u should try to speak louder or clean the recording with some software or you could try with a new mic
@silvertongue1636 thank you! 🙏. I appreciate the feedback and will do!
Great video! I think that introducing people to the anima archetype is super important, especially in today's world.
In my dream I was tricked into eating two legs of a male lion but a female lion stopped me, have you any idea what this could mean?
Thank you for sharing your dream! Dream interpretation can be quite personal and nuanced. I'd be happy to help you explore this further. You can reach out to me directly through my website, dreamanalytica.com, or find my contact information on my channel page. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I have the positive Anima thanks to my parents. Carl Jung was a wise psychologist.
My main issue with shadow Work is that others notice progress in you, but you usually don't, because how deep the change is. This creates a blind spot that may make us conclude that the inner work is not producing any results. Only recently I noticed that I am less eager to respond every argument, and I am less likely to get mad at traffic... But I had to remember key details to realize it. Others also notice it and interact with me more.
Very good video, it's what I needed. ❤
That image reminds me of the Telos, as described by galahad heridanus..
Fire
This is amazing to hear. How did you learn this?
Excellent work young Master... ❤🎉❤ Keep up the Divine work of helping others find their harmonious relationships with our magnificent Universe through seeking balance within and without to consistently achieve our highest versions of the highest visions we've ever had of ourselves and our Divine families...🎉❤🎉
Thank you.
I would like to know, what your thoughts are on jungian psychology, , shamans, and whether Jung was a shaman or not. Thank u. 😊
Sure, I have likened starting out in psychology to programming; with so many programming languages, one can be overwhelmed and unsure where to start. The same is true for psychology. There are so many different schools of psychology that I didn't know where to begin. However, my intuition guided me towards Jung and Analytical (Jungian) Psychology, and after a long process of filtering out other psychological practices, I found that Jung had all the answers I was looking for. As for whether Jung was a shaman or not, he most definitely would be considered a shaman in ancient or tribal times. In modern times, he is much more than that, so simply calling him a psychologist does not do him justice. He was a pioneer, and what he did, not just for psychology but for the future of civilization as a whole, is completely understated in my opinion. It is a shame to me that his work has essentially been buried under the rubble because his discoveries are so profound and dangerous to the status quo. He was a revolutionary similar to Buddha, Jesus, or Lao Tzu, in my honest opinion, way ahead of his time.
Thank u for sharing 😊 I am really looking forward to your next video u have a new follower ; -) greetings, a fellow jungian ;-)
💚🙏💚
I think u are making a good point here 18:10 about the true nature of psychology. Indeed it is subjective, and part of the (im)material evolution as well.
This is very courageous of you, thank u for sharing. Are u studying jungian analysis?
Yes I am!
Thank you for sharing this video 🫶🏼
