Two go-arounds during the livestream on Sat 5th October from AKL. First Air NZ and the Jetstar aborted their landings. Winds were shifty and gusty which may have contributed to the unstable approach.

I have never seen a New Zealander attempt live plane spotting from Auckland Airport, I wanted to attempt it, but decided to stick to my scenic flight videos. Thanks for the effort and I hope u enjoy some of my scenic flights, especially the Queenstown flights and drives.

@nz1aviation looked like a tail wind component to me but never been there so I'm no expert on Rarotonga.
I’m no expert either 😂, but would have thought taking off with the wind would be dangerous at the best of times, let alone Rarotonga with a relatively short runway and lagoon drop off at the western end.

Great stream NZ1 Aviation. Just to let u know I landed safely at CHCH Airport from ZQN although 45 minute delayed but made. Sorry u didnt see me land but maybe next time it was due to the late arrival of the flight from CHCH NZ NZ5651 that was delayed in CHCH. I touched down in CHCH from ZQN at 14:35pm.

That noise that you can hear coming from the Jetstar A320 is the brake fan on the outside wheel of the main undercarriage. There is an American Airlines maintenance guy based at LAX ,who posts videos of his shift on youtube: Stig Aviation. Some of his videos show close ups of these. Yes your right that Air New Zealand's A320's don't have them.

So good seeing the 777 up close! Is it only Air New Zealand that fly big jets in there? Never been to the Cook Islands before - might need to change that...
Certainly a sight to behold up so close. Air NZ are the only airline to fly widebodies into Rarotonga. Jetstar fly the A320/A321 and Hawaiian also fly an A321. Highly recommend a visit. Beautiful country and the people are so friendly & welcoming. Thanks for watching!

Just found out that air NZ is actually operating these on this route. I know the economy and community connections between the Cook Islands and New Zealand, but are these flights regularly full? Or are they just operating it for the cargo capacity of the 777?
From what I can tell, the flights are full yes. Lot of demand out of NZ especially in the winter.
