@@TRUMPmyOSHI (I can hardly speak English) Many of the JR trains manufactured in the 1990s aimed to be updated on a 20-year cycle. Therefore, they are designed to have a short lifespan. (E209 series, E217 series, E231 series, etc.) If it weren't for the earthquake and pandemic, this series would have been scrapped much earlier.
@@gonst8174 Thanks for the explanation! Your English is actually very well written! ありがとうございます!☺️ Sorry for writing in English but my Japanese is really not the best. 😅 I see what you are saying, but JR East seems to throw their trains away so quickly, more so than any other railway. Kansai lines such as JR West, Hankyu, and Kintetsu seem to keep their trains longer and take care of them to make them last. JR East seems to want the latest model. Not to mention that people, like in Indonesia want old Japanese trains, (but I think the Indonesian government stopped the transfers for whatever reason which is so sad). I think about the resources and care that are put into these trains such as the steel and microchips, as well as the hands that created them. Therefore, even if they’re made for 20 years, it still seems like such a waste. As for my beloved Shonan e231 model, my heart would hurt to see it destroyed so ruthlessly like this. 😞💔

Trains can last 50-60 years. It’s such a waste to throw away a train in half its lifetime. 💔

The train has been well built, only for it to be destroyed and thrown away so quickly! People are wasteful!
